1. I respect it for its design bravery. Perhaps people were having this conversation about Ricks when they first came out. ...And Fenders.
 2.
Don't sow seeds of doubt in my mind!! I've replaced them with Nordstrand singles- I was curious and I liked what I heard.
Ah yes, that could work --- This could be a rare treat for someone wanting to mellow a fender five. --- If anyone is planning to do this with a Bob Glaub, give me a nudge
 3. Why would you possibly want to sell these?
 4.
a reference to Willie Dixon, I believe.
Ooh, a good'n'
If we're talking about someone who stands back and never makes a fuss, then it's got to be Cliff Williams. You never see him but you sure know he's there.
Wise words. Jamerson fits the bill. -- This thread begs the question, what is cool? I've chucked in a stereotype. Obviously, being a fat bassy black man doesn't make you cool (although it sure helps). I guess being cool is someone who is innovative, does their own thing whilst filling the role. That's why I think the coolest (electric) bassists (and my my favourite bassists) are:

James Jamerson
Aston Barrett
Bakithi Kumalo
Stereotypes always start somewhere though. There was obviously a fbm who was a bit of an innovator and trend setter among bassists.
 5.
Its not scruffy, its well loved
I want one. Blast they're so expensive. Worth it mind, I'm sure. I'd be worried about failing miserably though whence getting one. Or find the neck just too bulky for my wee hands. It's a lot of money for something I might not enjoy... I'm sure others have been in my position (?) I just love the tone and the look. And the simplicity and lack ff electronics. It makes so much sense. My favourite tone would have to be the slightly pro folk tone.. has anyone heard Astral weeks by Van Morrison, that sort of thing. Yeeearrggh, upright GAS.
 6.
IMO Mark King is the anti-cool!
Damnit! Took the words.
 7. The coolest bassist has to be some fat black man with the deepest bassiest tone. Who has never slapped. Ever.
 8.
Everyone loves Lydia - I still prefer the pink bobble hat phase though. Hey, they should get her for Bass Day! Can we start a campaign?
9. Lovely. The quintessential '70s Precision.
 10. Lakland Ampeg TI I own none of these 1 brand = Fender.
 11.
Damn I hate it when the Hickeys or the Simpson bloody family slip in some subliminal message! I now feel a moral obligation to walk to work... just as well I'm on holiday.
Subliminal BURN
 12. The price will rocket, surely?
 13. Really enjoyed tonight's episode. Not too subtle, but sweet. And Christian Slater wasn't too annoying.
 14.
Okay ... I'm in the club ... here's my new toy Slighty iffy quality photo for a slightly iffy quality bass
Oh, nothing better looking than a scruffy upright.
 15. I have a set of Lo Riders, they're realy nice whence played in.

It Didn't sell. Although it was pickup only. --- If it's Japanese, Bassassin may well know how much it's worth. I think someone would pay 2-250 if they were after one.
 20.
Hi everyone, first post, great forum! Got a question, due to being useless with money I have to sell a bass, first to go is a fretless fernandes jazz. I aint got a clue of its worth, I paid about £250 for it 10 years ago. Its from 'the revival' series, cream, tort guard good condition, cannot find any on ebay etc so aint got a clue what to look for..any ideas? Cheers
I'm sure I saw one on ebay for £300.
 21. You must be able to get them cheaper somewhere. Sounds like a huge mark-up to me... Anyone know if they're expensive to make?
 22. How about a Wesley acoustic? They feel nice (not too big), sound OK and ought to be cheap. They're not loud but you should be able to hear yourself without bothering anyone. Sorry if you had an amp arrangement.
 23.
Have i done the right thing? Bring it on!
You've made an excellent decision. Your wisdom is astonishing, this amp will certainly satisfy your bassy muse.
 24. Lydia, in a geeky kind of way.
