1. Does the string break angle over the nut (and therefore also at the bridge) have any effect on string tension? I have basses with headstocks at various angles but I don't know why there is such a range of difference between them.
 2.
Shorty P bass Deko in stock just now... Hurry https://m.thomann.de...arch=1445339519
After a £230 bill to get my car through it's MOT this week I'm not even going to try ordering one until next month. So much for Japanese cars being uber-reliable...
 3.

Cheers! Must look tonight at the one on my HB deko jazz (it's the only bass I own with a round string tree.)
 4.
There's a string groove under some trees. Actually two, one each side.
Phew. Didn't know that! My eyes were twisting looking at that pic
 5. Eh? What's holding the A string in place? The tension should have it popped out from under the tree...
 6. I've got one almost identical to that (from a 2nd hand shop) Love it even though it is a bit cheesy but mine and from what I can see this one too is a little lacking in depth for wine bottles. But as a beer rack it's spot on!
 7.
I find it difficult to believe that they won't have shorty Ps in stock in the future. I would guess that there will be dekos too.

I've had that message about, LH Jazz and RH P, basses that have continually turned up again and again and again since...

Yeah stevebasshead I've had that message about basses I've tried to pick up deko and missed out before, they keep coming around. I also missed out on the deko shorty this time...
Cheers chaps! I'll keep checking the deko page :-)
 8. Oh Noooooooooo...!!! I ordered the short scale HB P copy yesterday mid afternoon with plans to put piccolo strings on it but this morning got: "Dear Stephen, Thank you for our recent order. We regret to inform you however that the item you ordered has been completely sold out and we will not be stocking it anymore. This is why we could not process your order – please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards Plamen Marchev International Sales" I may well be clutching at straws here...but can anyone who's had an order cancelled confirm if they've had the same wording (i.e. "not be stocking it any more") but then found that the model has then been listed in the Deko section again some time later? Or does it really mean what it says and they are stopping the Short Scale HB model altogether and the remaining stock doesn't include any categorised as Deko? I don't really need a piccolo strung bass so this would've been a dirt cheap option that I could justify to my fiancee while we're saving for our wedding whereas I can't justify the non-deko version unless it's going to be the only option.
 9.
Speaking of which, this surely cannot be the bridge as Kramer intended it? Look at the way the upper course strings run ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Used-Vintage-KRAMER-1980-XL-8-Aluminum-Neck-8-Strings-Bass-from-Japan-/291573896404?hash=item43e32894d4
The splayed out routing of the strings? Yep, that's how they are on the XL8. I was tempted by one of these about 9yrs ago. I missed out as it sold for more than I could afford (it went for £700 on ebay) but I kept the pics and it too had the splayed string routing. I'm gassing for one again now :-)
 10. I'm a complete sucker for led's, that looks bloody awesome!

 12.
I actually looked into that sanyo thing when I looked into power supplies, but I just didn't feel totally confident with it. I know that there's not a piece of electronical equipment that is 100% reliable but I just felt that a traditional power block made more sense..... However, I still really like the idea of a battery so I may come back to it in the future.
I know what you mean, I still keep a mains power supply handy to swap in just in case! I know it's just a 'comfort blanket'...but I still feel the need for it for now at least. Part of the reason I went for battery power in my pedal board was after 2 power supplies died when the cable broke where it enters the supply. It didn't seem to matter how much I tried to keep them out of the way someone would find a way to put their size 9's on the cable during a gig. Now the only cable connected to my pedal board is the one going to the amp and I've one less thing to worry about.
 13.
by having established acts on it boosts viewing figures achieving 2 things, it keeps the programme from being cancelled and the up and coming acts get more exposure
Well, it would if people didn't fast forward through it lol!
