1. This: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/peavey/bac2 And turn the chorus off. The crossover is at 400Hz, I think. I keep one lying around for exactly this purpose.

5. All gone, sorry. Watch this space for another dangerboy mic clearout next week!
6. I did a whole load of tests of different mics in different positions while my girlfriend played double bass last week. The best we found was: Wrap a Beyerdynamic M201 in bubble wrap or foam, without covering the business end. Insert it into the bridge, pointing upwards towards the fingerboard. Then put an AKG c414 about 18 inches in front of the bass. Blend these together. Sounds great.
7. Here are three mics that have become redundant for my recording purposes. So now they can join you! All tested and working well. SM58 - the classic vocal mic. With a brand-new grill and foam. Minor scratches and a sticker mark on the body. GONE SM57 - point this at anything in the studio to get a decent recording. A classic for guitars and snare. Also makes a surprisingly good vocal mic for some vocalists. Very good nick. Comes with a Shure pouch. GONE Beta 57a - the luxury version of the 57, with a windshield and a tighter response pattern. Excellent condition with pouch and original box. GONE £5 discount if you buy two. £10 off if you buy all three.

9. Last chance for this before it goes to eBay tomorrow. I'll take £225 posted until it goes on eBay.
10. Would anyone be interested in one of these: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb05/articles/firepod.htm It's the easiest method I have ever found to record multi-tracks onto my Mac. It's plug and play, both in terms of the microphones, instruments, line sources and SP/DIF digital ins and the Firewire out. Unlike most 8-input firewire adaptors, this has a mic pre on every single channel. Great for recording a drum kit in intimate detail, or a whole band in a live room. The other nice thing is that as you decide to expand, you can daisy-chain Firepods to give you 16 or 24 channels of mic inputs. Comes with power adaptor. Recently serviced by HHB, Presonus' UK distributor. Looking for £250 posted to the UK. Pics available once I find my camera!

12. This used to be mine, and I fitted all those Rick parts. It's a f**king great bass.

14. Future of the Left for me. I could listen to their bassist's sound all day.
15. Here are 4 mics. All working, but in varying cosmetic condition! Prices include shipping to the UK. Behringer XM-8500 £10 Shure SM58 (quite battered, with new grille) £20 Shure SM58 (less battered, with new grille) £30 Beyer m300 TG £30

17. I record (audio) every gig. Really useful for working out where the balance should be in songs. Plus I'd like to second the call for banter between songs. I'm exclusively in experimental, arty bands, but I still introduce every song and do some chat. People think better of the whole performance as a result (I know because I ask them!).
18. Little known fact about the RE-20: The capsule has a lifetime guarantee on it. I picked up a couple of them from different eBay sellers, both of which didn't sound quite right. I sent them to EV's UK distributor, who fully serviced them, replaced the capsules and all the foam, and posted them back to me. All for no charge. They sound amazing now, super-articulate.
19.
Really? On the RE-20? Bugger.
Fight!
20. RE-20 sounds wicked on double bass. And bass cabs. And vocals. And... Good buy, Joe.
