1. I've ended up with a couple of unloaded VOX 2x12s. According to the spec sheet they're made of 16mm baltic ply. With a little bit of work they could make great bass cabs. There are matching tears on the top each cab (shown). £30 each or £50 the pair. Pick up from North London. I will ship, but you need to book the courier on a day that I can get off work, and I'll need an extra fiver to buy loads of bubble wrap for them.
2. BUMP for a fun box o' tricks.

4. This is probably true in a lot of cases. But you'd never get my tone out of a POD.
5. Was that a lefty fretless when it came out of the factory?
6. I've been to some similarly over-sold gigs in London. All promoted by the same people. One of the bands came on-stage and apologised for the crush, pointing out that it wasn't their fault. So now I try not to go to that promoter's nights. Even if you're seeing great bands, the overall experience is so poor that it's not worth the money.
7.
A Fretless Bean, now your talking!
They do exist. But not in huge numbers.
8. The price is low, but then the seller didn't set up international shipping or provide decent photos. He/she could have got a few hundred more by doing that, easily. I was wondering if anyone here nabbed it?
9.
"they are on the top floor of a building at present and are a lifestyle choice" I wonder if they are wired in to some home stereo system pounding out some heavy beats in the top flat of a block somewhere... poor neighbours!
They're in EC1, so with the login name 'electrowerkz', I'd guess that they're in the club of the same name (as seen in Nathan Barley, rather appropriately).
10.
So DB, how good are these, as one who knows?
Depends what you're after, really. They're passive and they're heavy, which I know will put off a lot of basschatters. The pickups are really hot, but also have lots of top-end (unlike most overwound ones). The sound is amazingly articulate, hi-fi and unforgiving, but could also be described as woody, harsh and aggressive. It all depends on how you set it up and play it. Once you get used to the sound, pretty much every other bass sounds lifeless in comparison, like the difference between a proper harsh fuzz box (like a Fuzz Factory or Devi Ever thing) and a digitally-modelled one. I've tried to play other things, but I have ended up flogging all my wooden-necked basses. I still get GAS for wooden necks, but they never last long once they get here.
11.
I vote buy the travis. Then when you find your kramer I will hopefully have the funds to take the travis off your hands. Sound good?
Isn't there a 650b on ebay.co.uk right now?
12. Always great to see musicians promoting. Hope it's fantastic. Good choice of venue.

14. I think that Rick ones are a weird shape - I ended up getting mine from Rosetti after a long hunt.
15. It's a pity that they didn't put an aluminium neck on it too. I love my all-aluminium hollowbody. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dangerboycrea...57603263405555/ I wonder if all those rivets mean that there's a wooden core running through the body with the bridge, pickups etc bolted to it.
16. Steel is rubbish. Aluminium is the metal to go for!
17. YOINK! Backup G-K head problem solved. His feedback looks awful, but I'm hoping that a pick-up will prevent any problems.
