  1. Hello Marco, Have you got a weight for this baby ? Thanks
  2. Yes, Dustin was absolutly great and very helpful.
  3. Hello, I's true that I had a bit of difficulties to join Sandberg when I had a problem with my TM5 SL. Then someone here suggested to try via FB and it works.. Once I got in contact with Dustin, everything went smoothly.
  4. I see nothing about a fretless version. It would be a great contender to the EHB1005F.
  5. Hello, Is it me or does the Bass the world review speaks of 35" scale whereas Nate one says 34" ?
  6. Thanks Woodinblack. I'm not particularly fond of the P bass fretless tone but with only one fretless in my gear, I'd like to have it when I need it. That's why a two pick-up solution is what I'm looking for. Yes, my best option is to find a EHB1005 somewhere and hear the beast by myself. Thanks
  7. Unfortunatly none of those axes are available in real shop near me. Nevertheless, there was not a single review/test/soundclip of the SRH705 that spoke to me or sounded pleasing to my ears. I agree with you that a bass should be tested in real life but when you've got the same impression each time you listen to a test, moreover by different person, there may be something. For my other statement, they are just objective : - the Di georgio is in 35" and I can' play on 35", - the EHB 1005f sounded good to me but people warn me about the BH2 - the SRD905 lacks of mid controls which is, for my liking, a a very important parameter for my fretless tone - And yes, the Garry Willis may be great in it own right but with its single pick-up, it will for instance never produce that P bass fretless kind of tone. If Ibanez could offer a majority of its models in fretless, instaid of making special runs of them, it would be great. I'm sure that for instance a SR1405 or other 1505 series in fretless could be exactly what I'm looking for.
  8. Hello SteveXFR, The BH2 tone seems OK to me but the lack of punch can probably not be demonstrated in a YT video. Thanks for the notice. It seems that I won't find what I'm looking for in Ibanez range. The EHB has bad pick-ups, the SRD905 has only a two bands eq which is not realy apropriate for a fretless, the BTB and Di Georgio is in 35" scale which I realy can't stand and the Garry Willis lacks of versatility with its single pick-up. I've just realised that my best option may have been to buy that used SR1405 which was for sale at a good price and turn it into a fretless. Nordy pick-ups, 3 bands EQ with 3 mids options...
  9. Yes, to my ears, in the review, their works pretty good on fretless but it may vary when eraing them in person. At least, they sounds much better than the Bart MK1 of the 705. Unfortunatly there are not much soundlcip of the relatively new SRD905 and the one from Ibanez is crap.
  10. Thanks for the reply. @Woodinblack I'm not sure that I would change the BH2 pick-ups on the 1005f. Interestingly, from feedbacks and what I've heard in the review, their tone seems good for fretless application. @tauzero I've listenend everything I could hear on the 705 and I must admit that its tone realy don't apeal to me. To my ears, the BH2 are far above the Bart MK and the EHB1005 realy seems more lively than this 705. Thanks
  11. Hello, Looking for a good and affordable fretless. My two contenders are : - EHB1005f : not conventionnal in its look but realy good tone from what I've hard in you tube clips - And the new SRD905 still quite unknown and not so exciting wit its 2 bands EQ. Have you got an opinion on those two basses ? Thanks
  12. Do you feel that the little things like small foots or corners had been improved. The weight are even more amazing now. ;
  13. Still waiting to see the new AT cab version hit the stores. Does someone have seen them in person ?
  14. Hello, I've received a Sansamp VT bass DI a week ago. Great DI, great bass preamp. I wanted to bring a little bit of that vintage tube sound to my very clean Glockenklang set up and it is exactly what this preamp does. Great variety of tone just with the caracter and drive knob. From pillowy lows à la Motown to agressive overdriven middy tone, everything is there with just the caracter knob. If you want that classic Ampeg flavours, imho this box is more Ampeg than the Ampeg SCR preamp.
  15. My main bass is a TT5 but I recently spent a bit of time with my TM5. And I must say that I realy like it. Both pickups full on, humbucker in single coil mode is a tone that realy kill for slap and percussive styles. I don't realy care for both pickups with humbucker in dual coil mode tone, a bit steril to my ears. The humbucker alone is in the MM family but not realy fat enough but I guess it would be undistingable in a mix. Humbucker with tone completly rolled off is just killing for jazz fusion, Jaco style playing... fat, warm, bitting tone. Originaly, I should have sold this bass when I received my TT but finaly, I kept both and I'm very glad I did.
  16. Hi, I have the smallest HB pedalboard with a Iso pro 5 I think. For the moment, it carries a Empress para eq, an EBS Bass IQ and a EBS Multicomp. I could easily put one more large pedal on it
  17. I never realy paid attention to Markbass so don't know the privious prices but 899 € for a 4x10 at 16kg realy don't seem too expensive to me. Moreover when you see what GR, Vanderkley or other big name ask for a ultra light cab.
  18. The cabs are starting to be available on Thomann. I'm waiting to see them in local shop to feel that new material in person.
  19. I've tried several time to add a compressor in my sound chain but I defenitly can't stand compression. I feel it sucks my sound and dynamic, everything that makes my playing organic and natural. There are records that I can't simply listen to just because of the incredible level of compression applied in the mastering. The moste obvious that I can think about is S&M from Metallica and Books of soul live chapter from Maiden. The pump effect is realy too obvious and is killing me.
  20. Correction to be fair with Sandberg. I finaly succeeded in contacting them via service department. Actualy, Sandberg have no objection about taking my bass into warranty to check it. In fact, it's Music Store that refused that warranty claim without even asking to Sandberg if it could be done. The worse is that they told me that they asked for a warranty and that Sandberg refused it. Shame on them. Now the question is, will those fret slots felt from the side of the fingerboard be seen as a problem or just standard manufactoring by the company ?
  21. The TM bridge humbucker is realy stunning when soloed with trebbles rolled off. A kind of ultra powerful Jaco thing, maybe more Richard Bona type of bridge pickup sound.
  22. To my ears, my TT5 in passive mode with black label pickups get very close to the classic JB tone. If neede, juste tame the highends a bit with the passive tone control and here you go.
  23. Actualy, when using both pickups, I much prefer the single coil mode at the bridge and using it 90% of the time. However, you won't get a TT/JB tone with that single coil mode on the TM. Henrik Linder is the tone that comes to my mind when I think about it. I realy love that sound but realy not traditionnal JB tone. Hope it helps.
