Why didn't you just put an active circuit in the Fender? The GB is a keeper dude. Don't move that one on! I've got to keep track where the parts of that walnut block is!
tbh, I never thought of that to my shame, infact the new owner is getting a Sadowsky outboard preamp for it. -
Andy - have you been changing basses recently? Looking at your sig - what happened to the Fender? you chopped it in? Sadowsky? You been busy??
Yep I have been on a splurge, Fender didnt suit my sound i found that out early on and from now am sticking to active basses, the sadowski, although not as pretty as the Jazz sounds huge and is more versatile for me. The GB is going nowhere at the moment! The Jaydee is just surplous at the mo so trying to redress the credit card. -

A good honest and well played example in black gloss finish. This has been played seriously and has lots of minor scars and stuff from its hard life. There is some slap wear to the pup covers and the tail end of the fret board near the neck pickup, the neck however is superb and virtualy unblemished front and back and nice and straight. Make no mistake if you want to hang it on the wall this may not be the one, but if you want to continue slapping the hell out of it, this is just the ticket. Sounds great, could do with a serious pro setup. All electronics seem to work well but again could do with some lube and a check over, the LED works. This is a Mark King Model, not a Roadie and has the XLR out aswell as the standard jack. No case. I'm not sure what these go for, this is a very early 1986 model I believe from the serial number: 06762. PM me with some offers, but not too silly ones! Im not easily offended so fire away.
Ha Ha, I know this guy ! He plays with the Groove Doctors based in Ipswich. I have to say that without a doubt he can play, no question about that but what a jerk. He's part of a incestuous group of 'musos' that jump from band to band all the time trying to re-invent themselves but never coming up with anything new. Ipswich had a big blues scene about 15 years ago and these guys are the last of that (forgotten) generation of musicans.

Err.... yes. I couldn't help thinking that I might act like an idiot too if I thought it would get me closer to such a beautiful woman. Of course that was in my bachelor days, when my brains got turned to pulp by testosterone. Now they get turned to pulp by the kids.
Me too, bless us oldies!

I have the chance to buy a Rumour to go with my GB Spitfire so although I don't actually need the cash I try to only have two basses on the go at gigs, so although I've only had this five minutes she needs to go. Mint 1975 RI Fender Jazz, made in the USA. Absolutely mint and shiny all over. Fitted with brand new set of stainless steel Overwater roundwound strings, 40's, Tort scratchplate, (original white one is included). Both, unused pickup covers and string mute. Case is mint, bar the tiniest of nicks on the top all catches work fine and includes key. Fabulous bass, I think in the sexier of the two colour schemes with the rosewood board, traditional white binding and mother of pearl blocks, I think the maple necked ones with the black binding look a bit, well....... Super slim neck. These are much rarer than the maple necked ones. Just plain gorgeous really, £875 shipped insured. Some pics......

Had first full on praccy with my new USA '75 RI tonight, didn't take the GB. I can't believe how two basses can perform so differently. Having practiced for months with the guys with the GB the Jazz just seemed to throw my timing out, just subtly but noticeable as if there is a definite almost delay in the production of the note. Or its more likely im used to the immediacy of the GB's active electronics and how fast it reacts, I know we are probably talking milleseconds here, and the Fender sounds great, just a whole different lazy playing style. Am I mad or has anybody else found this when switching between active and passive basses.
