The fun of browsing in a record shop is pretty much taken away when you have a massive list of things you'd like to buy and they don't stock any of them.
Massive list, like a shopping list? I don't like that idea. I enjoy the spontineity of record shops. If they don't have what I'm searching for, there are plenty of others to choose from. The last one I visited was Discobox in Weymouth - I hadn't listened to Miles Davis before (not properly, at least) but picked up 'Milestones' anyway. What an amazing listening experience. There's that and the long chat I had with the store owner about Pink Floyd. There is absolutely no excitement in going to a digital "checkout", knowing exactly what you're going to get, not for me at least.
 2. chavs referring to the act of relaxing as "jamming" "easy bruv, wanna go n jam at chantelle's?" "yeah safe blud, i'm on that jamming ting"

 4.
Best version of Careful With That Axe too! Reminds you what a good rhythm section Mason and Waters were, despite all the stick they get for supposed lack of ability. Might watch it again tonight actually.....
I've heard the "supposed lack of ability" thing before, I always think that if it weren't those two supplying the rhythm section, it couldn't have been anyone else, regardless of technical ability.
 5. Yesterday, I defretted my Yamaha RBX270j 'cus I've been dying to play fretless for ages. Best thing I've ever done, and it makes me wonder why people play fretted... vibrato sounds nicer, slides sound nicer, lower notes sound nicer - all to my ears, anyway.
 6. Brilliant bassist and music IMO. Lots of technical stuff, but I find it to be more musical than gratuitous, which is quite a hard thing to accomplish...
 7. Have to post this. The bass line at 6:09 has been in my head for days!
 8. check out all the fripp and eno stuff! solo is out of this world ...may have posted too much

 10.
I used to think Victor Wooten was Ok 'till "I saw" this...... http://youtu.be/L_h9eQ15CIs Bloody hell
Wish I never saw/heard that.
 11.
A bit more "hard core" this one ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxMdQRsLchs
I've listened to quite a lot of Carlton, obviously not quite enough. Brilliant!

But I did it anyway. D:
 13.
I prefer my fusion an little more old school ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sa_3f6XvCqk...feature=related
That is absolutely brilliant, but I wouldn't say I have a preference in fusion. Just the good stuff.
 14.
Lighten up fellas! I've just had a skim through this, and quite liked it. Granted, RHCP aren't the band that we started out with, but neither are Metallica, the Rolling Stones, the Smashing Pumpkins, Take That, U2, The Who, R.E.M., Jamiroquai, Green Day, AC/DC etc... but you know what, people and bands change and evolve.
I tend to agree, but not with bands like the ones you've mentioned. Evolution can't be such a good thing when all they seem do is become increasingly more and more standardised to fit a wider market (do they really need more money?), less and less interesting and ultimately uninspired... Not having a dig, just my 2p
 15.
Thankee
no probs, don't wish to annoy anyone by bumping this every time I see something new, it's just... too awesome.
 16. BUMPING ONCE MORE Free download for the track "Sweaty Knockers" Killer.

 18.
I think I have the Windham Hill retrospective somewhere in my CD collection, must dig it out some time though I recall them being a bit 'elevator music' for my usual tastes.
Some of the stuff has come across as that if I'm honest, but the rest are underappreciated gems IMO. *edit I've heard of that site, never bothered to visit... doh! cheers
 19. How hadn't I heard of these guys before just the other day? Will be buying as much CD's as I can get my hands on... the bass is so understated in the mix, I think, but the lines are just brilliant. Like it or not, IMO their creativity is far beyond anything I've heard on the radio in recent years.
