Just out of interest, what the difference between a BN5 and this one?
The Studio models and the BN5's are pretty much the same, there's a slight design difference in that the Studio models don't have the little hump/horn on the bottom of the bass like the BN models, and the studio models have 20 frets, so they're a bit more traditional in terms of design and spec.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Withdrawn ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi people, Looking to sell my beasty F Bass studio 5! For those of you who are wondering what i studio 5 model is, it's essentially a super jazz like F Bass, in that it has 20 frets! It's the 80th made and was started Dec 12th, 2002, and completed May 22nd, 2003. Specs: 5 string 34.5" scale Swamp Ash body Black and white ceruse finish Maple neck Maple fingerboard F Bass 3 band eq (passive/active -push/pull tone control, seperate pickup volume knobs, one having a push/pull for single coil/humbucker, bass, mid, treble) F Bass humbucker/single coil pickups, with matching fascias Hipshot B style Bridge 19mm spacing Gotoh tuners I've owned the bass for about 18months or so now, and it's served me well both live and in the studio, however, i'm no longer in love with it, the sound isn't quite what i am after so i find myself leaving it at home more and more and using my fretless instead. It's in excellent condition, there are one or not slight knocks, but all in all, it's in top condition. I'm asking a firm £1450 for it, i am open to trades, but i'm quite particular with what i'm after next, i quite fancy getting back my Ken Smith off mcgraham, so cash would probably be best, but try me. 20 frets indeed young man!!! I e-mailed George at F Bass a while back about it...it's essentially a pimped up Jazz bass...hooray for pimped up jazz basses And as for the youtube vid...it's close from what i remember, but Mark and i both agreed at the time that it came close to what we both loved about the sounds of Garrison, Tony Grey, Janek Gwizdala etc...it also sounds amazing strung E - C and feels so right like that, i don't know how Mark has it strung, but i loved it with the high C!!! Grantham is as same as ever my friend!!! Glad you're getting on ok in Notts, what area are you living in? Right, specs: 34.5" scale Ash body Maple neck and fingerboard Mandolin frets Black ceruse finish F Bass Humbucking/single coil pick-ups F Bass 3 band EQ (active/passive mode, tone know, humbucker/single coil push/pull knob, seperate pickup volume control like on passive jazz basses) Finger spacing is a little wider than the Smith, think it's 19mm, but as you may remember, it still shreds comfortably! Think that's about it, anything else, just ask my friend. I've got it advertised at £1450 for a sale, so the difference would obviously need to be made up upon negotiation etc. I understand what you mean about the bank balance though Pics should be able to be seen on my myspace mate (see signature)...my camera is being a little uncooperative to say the least at the moment, so i can't post any for the time being, sorry mate! Hi man, sorry about no gettin back in touch...my internet connection is up the spout!!! The F Bass is a Studio 5 model...so yeah, it's a 5 string. Finished in Black ceruse, made in 2003. The studio models are pretty much the same as the BN5 models, just with a slightly different hardware set-up at the time, but the same as the current ones... Sound any good? Pm me if so please mate, that way i get an e-mail notification! Thanks J

Hi man...it's a shame to see you moving this bad boy on!! But, as stupid as this may sound...are you interested in a trade with my F Bass, obviously there would be a cash difference in my favour, but i miss the Smith badly man, and the F Bass isn't my weapon of choice anymore!!! Probably being a bit opptimistic asking that, but there's no harm in doing so Hope you're getting on ok in Nottingham by the way! J

Hi all, The sax player's dad has this rather nice Yamaha BB N5, but he doesn't know much about it, nor how much it's worth, he's had it a number of years, and it's in mint condition!!! Just wondered whether or not any of you know much about them, or how much it's worth? I'm not that familiar with the Yamaha basses. Here's a pic: Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jamie
