1. All i noticed was the change in volume/tone (as in a huge change, not subtle as you'd expect from a slight turn). Too be honest with you it doesn't really bother me, i was just letting you guys know...it certainly sounded killer though!!! As for sleepless nights over it, that won't happen...i haven't got a holiday booked yet, and i'm more than happy with the Marleaux, it's a beautiful instrument!
2. Hi all, Just a quick post. I was down at the Gallery on Friday, i took my Marleaux down for some TLC. I spotted the Roscoe on their site before i went down there and thought i'd have a play on it... WOW!!! It's tone is just absolutely phenominal...so awesome! It's got so much balls to it, and such a classic fretless growl, i was really diggin' it. It had a blank fretboard, but, for once, i actually got on ok without lines, my intonation was ok on it...and it just sang beautifully!!! My only issue with it was the pick-up pan, at centre detent it was fine, but favour the bridge pick-up, even only a smidge and the volume boost and difference in tone was nuts!!! The tone was still kick ass, and i preferred it on the bridge pick-up, but what i'm saying is, you couldn't just smoothly turn it and hear a gradual change, it was like a kick in the nads, you noticed it!!! Whether there's a dodgy circuit, or something not right i don't know...but either way, i still thought it was a wicked bass. I played the Overwater and Ibanez fretless basses, as well as the fretless P Bass in there too...for me, the Roscoe was the winner hands down, the Overwater was nice, with a generally plain sound, but it would suite pop gigs nicely... but the Roscoe was the king of tone!!! I was almost tempted at asking them if theyed take my marleaux off me and let me walk away with the Roscoe...but the Marleaux is more me!!! So, in short...anyone after a fretless with £1450 to burn, you're money would be well spent here!!! Looking forward to trying the F Bass BNF6 that they're getting in... J

II V I
Anyone have this on recording in a cycle of 5ths loop or something they could email me? I'm guessing there's a fair few that practice over it.
Hi mate...bit confused by what you're asking, but if you're asking if anyone has a II V I progression for playing along to then yes, i do, a II V I in C major. I think i got mine from Dave Marks' website, you might want to check that, he has some cool stuff on there! Thanks Jamie
4. Hey guys...yeah i saw the Methany gig...would be killer, although i think the company i'll be with won't be into it that much, nor the 606 gig, nor your gig Wulf...sorry man!!! The Methany gig would be nuts though, Chick Corea is in town this weekend too!!! Any funk/soul gigs? (thanks for the suggestions though guys, sorry that they're not what i was looking for!!!)
5. Hi all... Similar to a post i put out a while back...i'm in London this Sunday and i'm looking for some funk/jazz/r'n'b sort of gigs to check out...do any of you have any suggestions? I'm going to be in Watford, but can get into London...the jazz cafe gig looks like it could be interesting, any thoughts? Thanks Jam
6. Hey man...it went wicked thanks, absolutely storming gig!!! Still kind of blown away from it, really had an awesome time!!! It's not settled in that i've actually played at the Jazz Cafe, lol!!! Do you know of any good gigs happening on Sunday? I'm coming down to meet up with a lady friend in Watford, was thinking about trying to catch a gig or something...can you recommend any musical happenings? J
7. Just got rid of an LX5 mate, sorry, not my thing!!!
8. bump
9. hi man...i have my Smith set up like that, i've just bought a set of La Bella Deep Talking .029 - .106 (already E - C)...they sound awesome!!!
10. Yeah man...think i'm going to have to settle for using the Ashdown though...especially seeing as though we're skipping sound check, we'd be leaving ourselves open to too many complications that we don't want to have to worry about!!! Still...life goes on, and it's not the amp nor the bass that make the player, so on that basis, i'll endevour to kick ass using weapons of the dark side The F Bass is enough bassful goodness for me

13. Yeah i D.I...and i'm very specific about my amps and what not, they sound good and do the job well...but i don't see a way around this one without having to make the 2 1/2hour trip on my own in my van, incurring expenses beyound those already in place, and to then not get in my van before 1am to make the journey back...i think for one night, i can survive on Ashdown...my F Bass will give me muchos tone-os!
14.
Have to? Get to speak to the stage manager/sound engineer directly. I'm sure they'll understand once you explain about your rig.
Well...i can bring my own rig, that's possible yeah, but it's more of a complication than anything. We're the last band on, stretching into the early hours (think we start 11ish), and our alloted soundcheck time is 4pm, however, with some of the guys in the band working full time and not able to get the time off, we're having to skip the sound check and will perform a line check when we're getting ready to play...so, without being able to sound check, this becomes very complicated!!! Looks like using my rig won't be feesable!!! Gargh...the Thunderfunk would've kicked ass!!!

16. Just heard from the band member who's in contact with the people at the Jazz Cafe...i'm going to have to use the in house stack, consisting of Ashdown...i hate ashdown!!!!
17.
Hah, well, we're in London. I still think I'll pop along to the Jazz Cafe to see you. I thought I knew the name Groove Cartel. You guys were one of our first myspace friends on a previous band's profile.
Nahh...you've heard the stuff on the radio, lol, just joking The band have played there once before, but we're back again, wahoooo!!! Would still be cool to see some basschatters there, not sure whether i'll be able to say hi to anyone, but where possible i will!!! The headline act sounds interesting though, a very talented piano dude!!! J
18.
Well done, mate. I'll check out your myspace page when I got home (the music player's blocked at work!). I should be free and should make it down. I'd expect you at my next gig though. ;-) Deal?
Free time permitting mate, then yeah, i'll come along to one of your gigs...i'm in Grantham, Lincs, not sure where you are. But i'm all up for getting along to see some fellow basschatter's pimping it up on stage
19. Hi all, Just a quick one to announce that i'm gigging with Groove Cartel at the Jazz Cafe in Camden next Wednesday (27th june)...not had many details come through yet, but rock on!!!
