1.
Have a "very nice but wallet firmly in pocket" bump
thankyou kind sir
 2.
Done Phil. Now all we need is for someone to explain why my PDF has been converted into an IDB, and how you're supposed to open it ...
I think it's a forum peccadillo, if you download it and 'if need be' change the extension to .pdf it opens fine...mine downloaded as a pdf
 3.
sorry to be a pedant sir, but is it 2010, or is it 14 years old? either way it looks nice though
oo bobbins! ta for reading it properly!! you've passed the test while I was posting it t'internet went fubar and created 7 listings for it so proof-reading got sidelined until garymac kindly fettled it for me info corrected, it is indeed a 2010 making it 4 years old and not 14 years old
 4. well I've never had t'internet do that on me before! 7 threads opened just cos it was having an episode!!
 5. [s]For sale my (very) recently acquired 2010 Fender USA Std J in Oly white with tort guard and maple fingerboard (Alder body, American standard single coil pickups, graphite rods etc etc). It's in absolutely stunning condition for a 4yr old bass (I've certainly not had chance to do more than noodle on it at home once or twice) and sounds super sweet like a J should. I've got an opportunity to match up my vintage p with a fretless sibling so summat's gotta go! Comes with case candy and OHSC (the SKB coffin style with 4 locks), one foot of the case has been broken but doesn't affect the enveloping protection of the rectangular beastie. The bass is unmarked. Currently strung with roundwound strings and sounding superb! Given that the last one was listed at £850 I'd like one million dollars for this, well maybe £750 local collection from Sheffield more than welcome, I'm also happy to ship if need be. Some cr*ppy phone pics (nicer pics are in post #6). [/s]

 11. subscribed so I can watch at home
 12.
Yep. Worse with the active stingray , turn the bass up and it goes haywire anywhere below the A string.
bu*ger! hope it's just slightly perished foam (which can be replaced) and not summat more serious internal to the amp! I think I was in Trad the day you picked that GK combo up (assuming it's the same one), it was rather a long time ago so if nothing's gone wrong with it thus far it's done superbly for you
 13. presumably you've already done the obvious 'trying it with different basses etc' thing just to rule out everything else?
 14.
Hmm.... Cheers for that, but the strings that are on now are roundwounds :-/ Perhaps I'll have a look at some la bellas though when the time comes as they're so highly recommended. Cheers
pestie must've put 'em on matey
 15.
It certainly is. Did this used to be yours? If it did I'm just trying to find out what strings are on it as they suit it so well. I'd hate to change anything about it when it comes to string change time :-/
it did indeed matey, superb bass! Only sold as i got a '78 p... if it's still got flats on it yes it was me that put them on and they're labella 45-105 flats, superb strings imho and they do suit my perfect p bass sound you should be fine with those for a few years yet if you like 'em matey
 16. awesome head! I loved mine when I had one
 17.
Well I had a rehearsal last night with the black and maple American Std Precision I collected on Sunday from Pestie. What can I say............ An awesome bass, full, thick and powerful tone which sounds amazing through my GB Streamliner. The bass has an extremely low action but with absolutely no buzzes, it plays like a dream. Does exactly what I wanted it to, namely plug and play with instant classic tone. Very happy boy
woohoo! it's a superb bass matey
 18.
I'd have to disagree with the 'weird' bud, it's because you're bloody good. Your Soundcloud stuff is very enjoyable, interesting songs, a lovely dynamic sound and everyone has their own space 'in the mix' (imho). If you sound like that in pubs it's no wonder you're going down well!
mate, that's really very kind of you! We've all played in other bands for years (mostly covers, abba tribute that sort of thing ) but we've not been together as a band playing our own stuff for even a year yet and we're being pushed up the bill ahead of etablished local bands after 3 gigs, we're kind of sitting here thinking, wtf is going on here! we've been told by a mate that he thought the soundcloud stuff was ok, mebbe not his sort of thing but when he came to see us live he was completely blown away and he's now a rabid fan, that can't be bad can it It's making us think we need to do some proper recording rather than just doing basic demos from our rehearsal space...
 19. you could bung all the pics on photobucket and just link them across, doesn't use up any of your bc allowance then
 20.
I doubt it will keep up with a drummer unless he uses brushes or has a particularly light touch. My acoustic project is drummer-less so its not an issue for me. But there is a Crazy 88 with two 8" speakers which almost certainly would keep up with a drummer, I would guess
I used the crazy 8 at a coffee shop gig as backline for my eub against a cajon an dacoustic guitar/piano vox and it sounded brilliant, sitting perfectly and not getting at all lost in the mix!
 21. Third gig down and things are getting weird!! http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 We've been rebooked (again) and this time to headline on a saturday night over two well established local bands used to headlining their own shows in decent sized venues whose names start with "o2 something or other"...as the Wildhearts once sang, there's "something weird going on in my head"!! Great night though and we filled the place nicely for our set whereas the other two acts good as they were didn't really bring anyone...mebbe that's the answer?
 22. another great night, yet again amazingly so! the place filled up nicely for our set which obviously makes everyone happy
 23. this is a real beauty and I love looking at it if it had a rosewood board I'd be reconsidering that second kidney requirement
 24. My acg single cut 5'er is 34" scale
