1. OK no worries. If someone makes off with my SR then we could be talking.
 2.
would consider a trade with something active 4 or 5 string will be happy to put cash for the right bass, bongo would be nice!!!!
Hi - might a MM Stingray 4 tickle your fancy?
 3. Well I'll be jiggered! That's very good of you, many thanks indeed! I've tried to use the pic uploader on here but can't make it work.
 4. Hi chatters My lovely MM Stingray 4 needs to find a new owner. It sounds great, looks great, even smells great but if I'm honest I get everything I need from Jazzes and P-basses. And, I really want to buy a bicycle! Not sure of age, but it's got the compensated nut so it's relatively recent, and you can see from the pics that it's in very good nick apart from some battle scars on the lower rear bout near the jack socket. Like all modern SRs it's fairly heavy, about 10lb I think. [s]I didn't get a hardcase with this one but it will be supplied with a decent gig bag[/s] Yes I did! Found it in the loft - almost as new with case candy, lovely! and the original strap buttons [s]will be[/s] have been refitted. I'm in the Midlands and am mobile. Drop me a line, cheers! Pics can be seen here: https://www.facebook...=3&l=56f9155065
 5. Hi I have a 3-band Stingray 4 in sunburst with maple fretboard that I might do a swappsies with if you're interested. It's a lovely bass and sounds great but TBH it's a bit heavy for me and my duff back. It has seen some combat too - nothing major but condition-wise it is definitely 'gigged' (as indeed it has been). I bought it without a hard case but it does have a good quality gig bag with it. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send some pics if you want. Cheers Dave
 6.
Descided to hold on to the Musicman case. Now comes with a Stagg case. Have also reduced sale price by £50.00 to reflect this. Would reduce price further if someone would throw me an MXR M288.
Could be interested in a cash deal - would you meet halfway (somewhere near Ross On Wye maybe)? Really don't need case of any kind - how non-concrete is the price for folding readies handed over in person?
 7. 'No offers below £950' may actually mean 'No offers'....!
 8.
Thanks but I'm not too keen on the pre '57 P's
No prob, good luck!
 9.
Nice bass, and I agree with you about the one-trick-pony thing. In the right band setting, these basses are unbeatable. One tip on selling on Basschat: Give your location (in "My Profile"). If I was a potential buyer for this bass, it would make a significant difference to me whether you were in London or Lerwick.
Yup, good tip and it sure makes a difference to me, but I mention my location in the text.
 10.
It seems a lot of people are having problems sorting out their pics on this new rather user-un-friendly version of the forum. Here...
That's very kind of you, many thanks!!!
 11.
Nice, shame the certificate is lost, otherwise I could be interested. Do you have any pics of the jack input change? Good luck.
Can certainly get some, will post as soon as I can. The FCS will supply a replacement certificate but they'll separate you from £70-odd for the pleasure which I feel is taking the p*** somewhat, especially given what they charge for the instruments in the first place. However to anyone who knows anything about the FCS instruments it's obvious what it is and all the other candy is there.
 12. Fancy a trade? If you like P-Basses you'll love this... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150332196277184.392810.622732183&type=1&l=952fb5b006
 13. Hi chatters For various reasons it's time that this lovely instrument went to a new owner. It is a Fender Custom Shop '55 Reissue in their 'Closet Classic' finish. This means 'lightly distressed' so the lacquer is gently cracked pretty much all over and there is the odd minor dent here and there. You don't see these things about too often, either new or used, and in particular in this colour. It comes with the CS case, metalwork and all the gubbins, including the original set of flatwounds, except the CS Certificate which a prior owner had managed to lose. It is very light (under 8lbs) and as resonant as you like. The neck is a fairly chubby C-section, the skinny frets are in good shape and all the electrics work perfectly. It has been slightly modified: 1. The cup-style jack socket has been replaced with a flat version to enable the use of right-angled jacks 2. The original pickup (which, frankly, was crap) has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan Quarterpounder which works very well indeed. The original pickup is in the case. If you're interested and you haven't played one already just be aware that this is probably the LEAST versatile bass ever made - it is really the ultimate one-trick-pony, albeit a very good trick indeed. Forget yer Marcus / Victor / Stanley tones, this thing is all about producing a large noise designed to hold down the bottom end in a band scenario playing any style of old-school rootsy music. Blues, R&R, R&B, Motown, classic soul, dub, electric folk, any ensemble which needs a big bottom (missus) is cannon fodder for this thing. For all that kind of stuff there is really nothing much to touch it - it is the ultimate in simplicity and proves that Mr Fender just got it right first time 60-odd years ago. Cash price is around £1500-ish but to be honest I'd rather trade it for something interesting around the same value, maybe with a bit of cash either way. Ideally I'd like to find a Fender Custom Shop Jazz or Precision Bass (split pickup version) in a straight trade but tell me what you have. Willing to travel within reason, located near Worcester. Sadly I haven't been able to work out how to upload images onto this site so you can see pics of the beastie here: https://www.facebook...=1&l=952fb5b006 Many thanks for reading! Dave
 14.
Yes, looking for something along the lines of a Fender Jaguar, Aerodyne or Fender Mustang bass, with a bit of cash my way. Also happy to sell.
Just FYI really - the Coda boys are very good to deal with too, ask for Doug: http://www.coda-music.com/product_info.php...oducts_id=10809
 15.
Hi dave, nice bass, had a 72 jazz in the late 70,s not anti Fender, had neck problems with mine. will let you know in the next few days. Regards Charlie.
OK - I need to think about this a bit too but let me know if you want to kick it about further. I am also in the Midlands btw, near Worcester.
 16.
Hi bud, any pics? not a Fender fan but will have a look. Chunk of change??? Regards C.
Pics of P-Bass here... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1...b006&type=1 ...but in fairness if you're not into the classic Fender sound then you'd hate this, it's as Fender as Fender gets! The 'Ray is a standard 3-band sunburst / maple, very good nick all over except for three nicks on the lower edge - no pics right now but can be done if you're interested. In cash terms, these two combined are nominally worth about £2300 so a grand-ish maybe? Cheers DW
 17.
Back on sale. I've recently "invested" in a old vespa that needs some work before it's legal. 19. I regret selling my Wal 5, it was very like this. Is there anything you'd trade (or part-trade plus cash) for it?
 20.
Hi - really like the look of that, been looking for a maple-neck Jazz for a while. I'm in the Midlands though, and don't get down south very often - could you ship it if necessary? Or maybe meet halfway? Cheers Dave
21. OK, let's widen the net a bit - would be willing to look at interesting trades, have a few bob put by for sudden GAS attacks, so don't be shy - come on down!

 23.
This is so pretty... I'd love it. I own a CS Jazz. But it's going nowhere... And I'm skint. This is horrible.
Sorry!!!
 24. Hi Two questions: 1. Many Warwicks I've been interested in seem to have odd neck problems, most commonly a section between about the fifth fret and the nut where there is too much relief (i.e. that bit of the neck is bent forwards). How straight is the neck on this, especially in the lower regions? 2. Any idea what it weighs? I'm too old and crumbly to go prancing about with 12lb basses round my neck... Cheers! Dave
