1. Useful as a caterers cheese grater or a muscular Zither for an extreme Ukrainian nationalist dance band. bargain.
2. I always liked the idea of those. Loads of independent access. I use an SI digital desk so we get at our IEM mixes with ipad minis, but we all share the same input channel EQs, though we can pan as we like for each stereo mix and there is a GEQ on every out so that helps. Still, I think a setup like this with an analogue or in a small recording studio would be excellent. Enjoy!

6. Perhaps just a wooden support underneath running side to side that is in contact with the floor and so prevents flexing?

10. Someone tripped over the mains cable into which the bass amp i was using on friday was plugged. The D.I feed was coming directly from the amp as the FOH engineer couldn't find one that worked in time, so I lost the amp and the PA lost the DI out. And it stayed out until the berk who fell over it, plugged it back in. it wasn't my amp and I had no idea where the mains cable was routed. This was about 2 verses and a chorus. If I had used a DI box BEFORE the amp, like I always do when engineering a band rather than playing bass, there would have been bass in the PA, and in my in ears, despite the amp going down. So yes, a DI is an essential, inexpensive portable bit of kit that you need.
11. Immodium. Tape and a sharpie so you can mark all your cables and other sh*t, because there are going to be a lot of cables and a lot of band sh*t going in and out of venues everyday, so label yours and you might not lose it!
12.
Whatever the size of cabinet you choose, given your medical circumstances, I would definitely invest in a very good "in-ear-monitor" system.
This. And those with "insanely loud" drummers, will be at serious risk also. Good luck!
13. Pedant alert. You don't take a kettle to the gig, you take an amplifier, the power cable for that is called an IEC http://www.techopedia.com/definition/25237/iec-connector Kettle leads have inserts in the shape usually that prevent them being used on other things like amplifiers. You can buy some very nice very flexible 240v mains cable and fit it to an IEC connector if you like. http://www.canford.co.uk/Products/33-351_FLEXIBLE-MAINS-3-core-2.5-sq.mm-Black-rubber Just don't bring the kettle.

15. That list gave me a bad turn. Then I remembered that we do NONE of them and I have killed, sacked, or drugged any members who showed any interest in them. So now it's just you lot to worry about.....
16.
I like to wildly flail around in an Ian Curtis fashion until my I'll fitting trousers fall to the floor and then masturbate furiously until the chorus. One day someone will notice the bass player
See, if you'd said that earlier we could have saved a lot of typing.
17. With that set up you are not making it easy on yourselves. With it being a mixer amp, you will need a separate output to send to an active sub, maybe an aux or fx send if you have one free. Turn the kick up till you can hear it in the tops, and then turn the aux up on that channel till you can hear it in the sub. If your sub is the type with a crossover built in, you you can set the point at about 100Hz (QTX do cheap 15"ones, I just won one on ebay for £40 and it's fine for a little warmth in a small venue.) Mix and tweak until happy. You can apply this to any channel. The problem with this method is it doesn't prevent the sub frequencies going to your tops, just adds a bit of sub to your existing sound,so you need to be careful with the EQ
