  1. So if you have something the exact diameter of the holes, you could cut to length and put the dots in place in the holes on the neck before putting the fretboard on and thus exactly position it?
  2. Ikea used to do a laptop stand which is similar to what would be needed - a downward lip at the front to hook over the cab front and an upward lip at the back to rest the back of the amp on. The upward lip would need some surgery to accommodate any cables that needed to go through the amp rear. I don't think the Ikea stand would do the job, although I use one to tilt my combo. 3. The world was crying out for a cheap copy of the Precision bass. How fortuitous that Squier are filling that vacant niche in the marketplace.
  4. No - v4.3.1 is the most recent version, supporting G1(X) Four, B1(X) Four, G5n, G3(X)n, B3n, G1(X)on, B1(X)on, MS-50G, MS-60B, MS-70CDR.
  5. The dreadful Lip Up Fatty That's Entertainment Monkey Man Message for you Rudi Just a few songs from a former band whose guitarist/singer was not just not a lead guitarist, he was probably the worst guitarist in the band (as he would be the first to admit).
  6. Where do you stand in a five piece band Would you stand on the left or the right Would you stick your headstock in the singer's ear I will try not to do it tonight I'll stand by with a little help from the band I'll squeeze in with a little help from the band Gonna try with a little help from the band Dum dum de dum with a little help from the band
  7. Oh, that's easy. I just play a five minute bass solo.
  8. It's rather a step backwards with a fixed signal path rather than the multiple building block approach that's been in favour for the last decade at least.
  9. Wouldn't an 02 Infinity have a JAN II on it, and were there brass JAN IIs or did you mean the later brass JAN III? Mine are all original JANs (plus a couple of other basses I've put original JANs on) so I haven't got any first hand knowledge of JAN IIs and IIIs.
  10. Fair enough. So I just need the slave to lug the full range PA tops around, and to buy them in the first place. If I were setting out on a journey from zero to a gigging band, and the other members were amenable, and somebody else could do the PA storage, I would try the IEM and silent stage route - after all, if nobody liked IEMs, it would still be perfectly feasible to run a quiet stage with monitors and no backline. However, I'm 66, doing 10-15 gigs a year at pub rates, not sure how many years of gigging I have left, own and store the PA, and have a limit of 10kg per item of equipment.
  11. Primary importance is good audience response. It helps to have an easy load-in and hospitable staff, as it gets you in a good frame of mind, as does everybody turning up on time. A decent amount of space also helps. Being able to get a good sound.
  12. That's what I had done to my fretless Thumb (originally fretted, fret lines were visible so I got Jon Shuker to remove then original board and put on a plain ebony board).
  13. I saw a band years ago who worked to this stupid idea of the drummer having to follow the rest. The drummer was excellent, she was a rock solid timekeeper and very competent. The guitarists simply ignored what she was doing and randomly speeded up and slowed down, and she had to follow what they were doing. They sounded bloody awful. I've always played in bands where the drummer set the time - a couple of them have been a little erratic but most have been good (and able to start at the right speed).
  14. With a former three-piece band, I would arrive first, set up the PA and my bass rig, and then when the drummer and guitarist arrived I'd be squeezed into any corner available.
  15. For a silent stage. This is very confusing. Doesn't a silent stage with no backline mean I don't use backline? Or can I use backline silently and we just mime?
  16. Yes, but for some reason lined fretlesses are popular. It seems strange, you hardly ever see training wheels on bicycles, but manufacturers make most fretlesses lined, and when you're buying a custom bass second-hand you don't get to specify it.

AFAIK, no and no. Neither Tonelib-Zoom nor (as far as I can make out) Zoom's own GuitarLab will control either the B6 or B2-Four, either on Windows or Android. Zoom seem obsessed with iOS to the exclusion of all else.
  18. I'm not sure as I haven't used any effects which use the "control switch" (there are a few others), but I can only think that the footswitch for the effect doesn't switch the effect entirely on or off but just controls the relevant parameters.
  19. They have less markup as Thomann owns HB so they can sell them at cost if they want without making a loss, then flog you all the accessories for a profit.
  20. No, through a combo. Hence "upgrade the vocal-only PA" and "find somewhere to store the active sub".
  21. I like it, although I wouldn't have one as I prefer more restrained designs.
  22. I believe a tutu is the approved apparel. Although perhaps in the interest of differentiation, a leotard would suffice.
  23. OK. All I have to do is upgrade the vocal-only PA so it'll take bass too, find somewhere to store the active sub and employ a slave to move it, mic up the drums, and either mic up the guitar amps or persuade the guitarists to go through the PA. A couple of thousand quid and an extra hour of setting up per night should cover it.

Alternatively, just get a Zoom MS-60B (not a Plus) and set it up to cycle between patches. Use the Tonelib Zoom editor to set up the patches.
