Bloody Hell somebody listened to an idea I had . You'll be sorry
Well, as I had just got the Gold one in it would be rude not to try it and at least see
That looks NICE. Congrats!
Thanks theyellowcar
Excellent poll. Looking good btw.
Thanks also Ou7shined and I always enjoy the easy polls that can be bantered After some thought on the matter I am going to go for the 2nd place winner of the B/W/B guard eventually as I already have a black 'n' maple P bass with a tort guard so 2 would be silly/greedy. Other drivers of this decision are that I need a 10 hole '57 format guard for this bass and I don't want to drill this bass for a modern 13 hole guard so that will mean a custom made pickguard. Then there's the issue of modern tort not looking that authentic compared to the old stuff so I'm not going to take a chance on any of that, especially as it is quite a bit dearer to buy. All the best, Jon

So, Got the Gold anodised 'guard through and have fitted it just to have a look!
Here's mine, it's actually something i'm part way through building, had the image in my head then after mapping it out on that builder, could finally see what it's going to look like when it's finished. I can't wait for it to be done! (ps, yes, i did photoshop the reverse P pick up next to the bridge but that's what's going on it and i'm not having a logo on it so i got rid of it on the picture)..
Like it! Also like your GAS list in your signature

I would like the stacked Jazz knobs on this, but they're not an option on the list...
...I'm not as creative as you guys, but I like these.
Don't know about that, liking the last one with the MM pickup.
Noisyjon, can you work your pictorial magic with one of them black and white checkerboard scratchplates? Just kinda curious. Only seen one on Steve Harris's blue one.
Not with that online P bass designer Karlfer, no. Sorry. That's a job for a Photoshop user I'm afraid as that's well out of my league... Anyone out there that can do that?
That's the one! I find tort on black looks disgusting and I can't understand why so many people think it looks nice.
Hi Nige, So the story goes - My P bass is the 10 hole pickguard version and I don't want to drill any holes in this bass for a 13 hole pickguard. That has seriously limited my choices to either an off the shelf gold anodised 'guard or a custom made number. I have managed to snag a used Fender Gold anodised 'guard off eBay so once that arrives and I check the hole alignment then I can either go with that or use it as a template to get something made. If I go for a Tort it would have to be something like this: But we will see
I was stuck between Black and Tort, I eventually chose Black
The B/W/B would definitely be cheaper to buy!
...The real question is, why isn't it a 3 tone sunburst!
-
Anodised gold
Hmmm...

It's a tight race between the B/W/B & Tort at the moment!
...Look at those three pics with your eyes screwed up. Which one is going to stand out unmistakably on stage as a P Bass?
Good technique Discreet and the Mint one wins hands down like that!

I asked a (guitar playing) bloke at work and he said 'ooh, the black one. The white looks like 'my first bass' and the Tort looks like 'my first bass that my Dad bought for me'
...Where can I access this P-bass designer? I need to stoke up the GAS a bit - NOT!
...You will see the blanks before you get them cut, wont you?
If possible, yes. Hopefully Spitfire7 will get some pics of his P & J bass examples up once they're made for us to see too.
