1. An unlined fretless... I just don't know if I should carry on with the 4 string I feel at home on, or get used to a 5er?
2. I've loved this bass and it's been great, but I need to keep to 1-in = 1-out Here, as you see it is a Fender Squier Affinity precision bass with upgraded pots/harness/knobs, shielded cavities and pearly white pick guard. For £95 it comes with the standard pups. For £145 it comes with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders For £135 it comes with Kent Armstrong pups Either upgrade would be a good value and I'll happily fit them for you, or have it as standard. The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard and great grain. The frets are in good condition and the strings have loads of life in them. The set up is nice and low. I can ship it for £14.00, or collect it from Herts/Essex area, or I can deliver within 50 miles of London (maybe more as I travel a bit) Enjoy looking? Then you'll love playing it!
3.
Ibanez GSRM-20. From Thomann, about £170. 28.6" scale, fits a guitar bag. Change the strings, the factory ones are not very good. I've got one, I like it a lot. http://www.thomann.d...9b625145ac9a81d Edit: Madshadows beat me to it, and cheaper too
+1 on the Ibby. That looks great value. You can't go wrong with an Ibanez IMO
4. Hi there, I'm having a clear out and this has been sitting here waiting for a project for too long. For the observant among us here, yes I sold this recently by 3 folk having said they wanted it failed to come up with any payment. £55 by bank transfer will get this to you in the next few days. As you can see it's in good condition and I can even let you have screws to fit. It fits a Fender, but just uses the 3 centre screw positions. Thanks for looking. Richard
5. How about this one? http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2429887 I know he says local collection, but I could collect and bring to Northants as I travel for work, or I can collect and ship.
6. The better way is to push the wire though, in essence you're right. It's a simple, manual system.
7.
If it disappears with water I would think it will also disappear with tru oil. Try a little in a non obvious place...you can always sand it off again.
+1 if you're useing 1000 grit and it feels smooth any thing that won't brush off is the grain. What it looks like wet IS what you will get when it's tru oiled.
8.
The Lakland bridge only has 3 mounts compared to the 5 on the Badass. I don't have a BA to measure atm but I don't think it would be a simple job.
The BA3 has 3 screw positions, 20mm apart. Yet if the Lakland holes are 35 apart, then you'd have to drill holes to fit the BA. (I do have a BA3, so it's easy for me to tell.)
9. Now up on ebay bump
10.
No, a BA (any version) would require new screw holes.
What is the distance between centres of the Lakland screws? The BA3 screws are at 20mm centres
11. IMHO... 1 - The Bass Gallery, Camden 2 - Take a stroll down Denmark Street.
12. I had the pleasure of making a fret-wire bending tool for the Doc. He was a Gent to deal with as always. Many thanks again

14. Just make sure, when you put it all back together, you keep the metal contacts of the pots etc away from the conductive shield. Otherwise funny things can happen.
15. Hi there, The time has come to thin the collection and regrettably 5 string is not my thing. The neck on this is a real beaut to play; it's fast and smooth and plays well. The body is finished in spalted maple and has 2 ESP soapbars and a 3 pot active EQ giving a good range of sounds. This is a B-205SMFL bass. It's fretless cos it was made that way. Here's a link for a new one: http://www.gak.co.uk...-fretless/58885 Here's a link for some reviews: http://www.musicians...ric-bass-guitar It's all yours, shipped for £215 or collect for £200, or I may be able to deliver for the £200, if you're in the southeast/south/London/East Anglia/Cambs areas. The matching headstock has dark nickel tuners to match the other hardware It's currently fitted with flats, and there's virtually no string marks on the neck. The neck has thin, subtle lines and the side markings are clear to see if gigging. The nut is 44mm and the spacing at the bridge is about 16mm. I've never had to adjust the action, but it's nice and low and gives a great mwahh, when playing. The only negative is when is was a babe, it got dropped by a previous owner the damage is down by the electrics cover. As you can see it's been successfully repaired. Over all, it's a great bass for a good 5-string player, or someone learning to play 5. Meet Despair

This sounds interesting. There's going to be a real challenge there in the inscription on the neck. Good luck.
17. The radius is adjustable by using the wing-nut on the back of the 3rd roller. Thanks for asking Fionn.

19.
I am the voice of reason.
Then maybe you can help me with an explanation on this: BC don't carry ads for Ricks and Ripoffricks. Then I see an add at the bottom of the page for http://www.probass.co.uk/ featuring, yes you guessed it.. a Ripoffrick! Ok, I know it's all done by some other company and BC don't have control over ads. It just struck me as ironic.
20.
I am not saying its a bad deal , I am saying its misleading.. Its a bad deal if you think you are getting an EB Stingray
Yes, it's misleading. As someone who once bought a Squier with a Fender decal; no I don't like it at all. And not being a Fender or EB expert I wouldn't buy either one on ebay anymore as there are too many fakes about.
21. Agreed, its not a bad deal. Its no different to the vast number of people who sell a "Fender bass" that is actually a Squier. I can't say I like the practice.
