1. OK, I've now played the LM3 through the Midget and that's OK. Playing the LM3 through the One10 with the same bass, cord, speakon lead etc, that's not well. I then put the LM3 together with the Cab of the CMD, again it's not good. There's not been any bangs, sparks etc. So there's no sign of a big "event" with anything.
2. Hi Folk, I have the following kit. MarkBass LM3 MarkBass Mini CMD121P Barefaced Midget Barefaced One10 Recently I've been playing bass using my LM3 and the Barefaced cabs. All with no problems. It all sounded great. Deciding to trade my CMD121 I took it out to try it out for a last go. It played ok, but on notes at the bottom end of the E string the cone seemed to be fluttering, like a fart. All this is at low volume in my lounge at home. Worried, I removed the combo from sale on BC and started to investigate. I checked the mount of the driver. Nothing untoward, so I took out the amp from the combo to a try it on the Midget. The Midget started making the same noise, so I then tried it on the One10, same again. I then put my LM3 back onto the One10 and that's now farting too!!! This was all at low volume. PLEASE tell me I've not totally blown all the drivers. If there's a fault with a head, can it really blow a driver without turning the gain or volume up above 20% ? I've seen there's a guy in Essex who fixes MarkBass. I think I may be off there in the morning. But can anyone help please?
3.
These are great combos, is this one made in Italy?
I just went and checked. The date is 11-2005. So, yes, this is Italian made. Really great for its age. I had no idea. The fan in the back is pretty clear too. (I'm going to regret parting with this one day. I can see it coming.)
4.
Save your money - I think he means the Radio2 breakfast show - you don't need a license to listen to radio do you?
Oh wow, of course. Great stuff. Excellent gig, btw. Really pleased for the OP.
5.
This looks like an early version of this combo?
I know it's not the latest version. I didn't have it from new. What I know is it is just like new. It's hardly been used. Looking further at the market, I might have over done the price. So now dropped a smidgen
6. Two things: 1 - How come every time a see a bass of yours it's breathtakingly gorgeous? 2 - Purely being nosey here, but the tasteful side dots we see there; are they on the "fret lines" or in the centre of the spacings? Good luck with the sale.
7.
I'm depping with the Puppini sisters on chris evans breakfast show tomorrow morning, gonna see the charts at soundcheck, bit scary,
Hey I might even buy a TV licence for the privilege of watching... Damn! i just sold the telly!!
8. @ Ghost Bass, you're not busy this afternoon are you? I'll give that a try.
9. You mean one of these? Played one of these once. Impressive sound. I could go for this if I sell my Mark Bass CMD121P. GLWTS
10.
Bump! I'd consider trading for a Mustang, if that helps.
I've only got this one. You wouldn't like it
11. Withdrawn as there seems to be a problem with theach driver.
12. This is a good pic that gives scale to this amp.
13.
Unfortunately you have stacked these with opposite polarity, leading to the bass frequencies from the Midget being cancelled out. Try aligning the 'Barefaced' logos properly and you will hear a real improvement in the sound.
I've got them both with the carry-handles at the top. And the logos are STILL not aligned! Clearly I have faulty kit here. I'm back to Brighton in a week I'll return it all to Alex for re-working under guarantee. ;P
14.
'This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available'. Which is code for 'This listing was ended by the seller because the bidding hadn't got anywhere near the price he wanted towards the end of the auction and he wasn't about to let it go for bugger-all'.
That's the trouble with starting an auction with a high start price. It hides any gauge of how enthusiastic the bidding could be. For all he knows it could have jumped £150 in the last minute or two.
15. Parted with; to a young 14 year-old to help him get started.
16. Funnily enough. I gained a Midget last weekend. I've not gigged it but they sound well together to my noob ears. The midget, while it's the bigger of the 2, gives a punchier, more treble sound.
17. Bump before going on Evilbay. I just watched one sell on EBay for 1000. Another is there at £1250.
18. Thanks for posting Andy. You clearly have this down to a fine art. It's always good to watch again.
19.
Question time - I'm trying to save the Made in Japan and serial number on the headstock. Any ideas how I can get the paint stripped neatly around it?
I recon you've done about the best that's possible. Either heat or Nitromores would run the risk of you losing those. But I have been known to be wrong.
20. Pics added. They're about as honest as I can get. They have been used. Not by me, but the previous owner clearly used the top of the bridge pup as a thumb rest and he actually used strings, would you believe! So the strings have left a mark on the top of the pickups. It's nothing drastic. There are no real bad marks here that you won't leave yourself by fitting them. The cables have signs of having been soldered, but that's only to be expected too.
21. I've got here a set of nice jazz pickups. 4 string, Strong Lows, Low Midsomer. Original, dual in-line coil, neck and bridge set. Still with original box. These generally sell for about £141 plus carriage from internet sellers now. Grab a bargain! Yours for £80 Thanks for looking.
22. Certainly a hot glue would be great if you have access to some. I was assuming you don't.
23. Bump
