7.
I was only kidding dude, having such an aversion to smilies really doesn't help me sometimes... I honestly didn't know those cutters did that, that actually does make them useful. Though not to me, unfortunately, I do love a gadget. No worries mate, made me chuckle also.. The missus has a thin plastic mat that she slices bread etc on... Yup theres loads of triangular holes in it..
8.
Yeah, I've got something like that, but it's more versatile, it will cut lots of different shapes. Not as expensive though. I believe they're called scissors... Scissors dont bevel the edges tho
9. Anyone tried or purchased one of those plectrum cutters ? Theyre on ebay for £22. Any old bits of plastic laying about stick it in the machine and.. Presto..
 10.
Before you buy anything - Have you played out all of your setting skills? I would start from that point first. Would also go for the right set of strings which brings out the bass´ tone best. Strings andsettings can change a lot Maybe i should have another "fiddle" first before splashing out, wouldnt wanna put new pickups in and still be dissapointed.. Thanks mate Also "correct" wound up strings effect a lot! All in all, a Jazz could have its very own personality. Most of my Jazz Basses have a bright and wirery tone. My ´69 Jazz not. He prefers a moderate higher neck tension were I can get its sweet spots now. Good luck!
11. Appreciate it chaps thanks, ill have a look on this forum first to see whats for sale

 15. Hi Ive recently purchased a CIJ 60s RI jazz and its a wonderfully finished bass, i played it for about an hour then swapped over to my mim jazz, The tone and volume on the mim knocks spots off the jap, what's the best replacement pick ups i could use?? . Ive tried raising them but the sound booms and the tone doesn't improve.. Any help appreciated, Thanks,
 16.
Played the Tropic at Ruislip with the Members last night. Probably the most fun I've had at a gig. We played really well and had a queue for CD signings when we came off. Had great feedback from the punters and couldn't even go for a slash without someone wanting to chat about the band. Great time warp night. Like a really good natured late 70s gig. Main band were bloody good value too. Hail the Scabies!!! Here's a review http://retroman65.bl...-at-tropic.html Here's me with some old drummer.
18.
I kind of sort of have a slight hunch that that solo, lyrics, and everything else about that song may have just about been intended as a joke mate You're spot on there mate, the Stranglers are fantastic musicians
19. Lee's also got his own band with Adam Wakeman on keys ( son of Rick)... www.headspaceonline.com
 20.
JJ Burnel's solo in 'tits'. Awesome.
Fantastic... Its taken him all day to learn that bass solo...

 23.
As in my bass, plus cash for that bass, means my bass is worth less than £1,000. Don't want to cause any confusion. Sorry steve its me whos confused... Cmon it is monday...
24.
Hi there. At the end of my post I said plus cash.
That is absolutely stunning
