1. im guessing this has gone already? if not I want it.
2.
I wish people would stop putting pics of Jaguars up A
Gotta love that though!
3. beautiful. have a bump from me, someone needs to have this bass.
4. You'll probably find that most of your favourite scream vocalists use the SM58, its a very capable microphone. The microphones you've listed probably wont sound any 'better' than the SM58, but maybe a bit different... and its a bit difficult to try them all! If you prefer the detail of a condenser microphone and have a big enough budget, the Shure Beta 87A is a great condenser microphone specifically designed for live use. I'v heard it myself and its pretty amazing, bear in mind you will need phantom power though. If your vocalist doesn't wanna spend £300ish on a microphone, remind him how much the rest of the band spent on their gear
5.
Yeah that's fair enough. From a point of having worked in insurance claims though it's not a nice feeling to tell someone they've lost everything.
yeah and I bet my left arm its the minimum wagers within the company that have to do this horrible job.... while the owners and managers sit and smile in there expensive suits!
6. If £135 'isnt too much' to you then get the extra pickup. Right now you might not be too fussed about the tone gained from an extra pickup but a year down the line your music tastes may have changed, you might have joined an [insert genre] band and your idea of tone might have completely changed. When spending so much on a bass you might want to have yourself covered for a fair few years! DONT screw a thumbrest on, this will probably devalue the bass. Possibly superglue it on but even then I'd be tempted to buy a different scratch plate and keep the original in a safe place.
7.
i offered him $50 for it. Hope he accepts
hopefully he will! then if your lucky.... you might be able to sell it on for $100 and double your money! :]
8. I also got one recently too and it certainly kicks ass. I'v always struggled finding a tuner that 'does what it says on the tin' but the TU-2 actually does!!
9. deffinately a fake, you can tell the decal is just a sticker.
10. I dont think you can get much cooler than a (naturally) road worn P-bass with all the pickup/bridge covers and thumbrest still in place.
11. I bought an Ashdown Mag 300 head of Chris and he was great to deal with. Head was well packaged (some might say too well!!!) and was in great condition... he even threw in a free plectrum holder
12. I find it funny that squire are in fashion nowadays. When I started playing, a squire automatically made you a crap player.
13.
Yeah Attack Attack from Wales are actually a really good band! Nice bass!
Don't you mean "Attack! Attack!" hehe
14.
Hi, Yes , I will post the amp. The price includes uk postage Best regards Chris
PM coming your way....
15.
Hi, Up for sale is my Ashdown MAG 300 rack mount head with mains lead. This amp is in full working order. I have only used a handfull of time as this has mainly been my "backup" amp. £ 120 inc postage.
would you post?
16. he is a great bass player. great band too actually!
17. Usually I will record the bass part through an amp, mic it up accordingly for a decent clean tone, but also DI the bass.... send the (now compressed) DI signal back through an amp afterwards, with a distortion pedal in the chain, record the amp with an appropriate mic set up. 99% of the time this works great for me.
18. Mixing position in the control room. Some dudes chillin in the live room.
19. I have an old Aria bass, bit of a heap of junk but it actually has a fairly nice sound. However, the frets where really done in so I decided to turn it into a fretless. I'v ripped the frets out, and they have come out quiet nicely without making a mess of the fingerboard. Its now fairly playable but is obviously not very complete. Now what do I fill the gaps in with and what coating should I use to smoothen out the kneck? Cheers Matt
20. I have played for free on many occasions in the past though rarely play covers/function bands for free (unless its for charity). I do find it absolutely crazy how a pub can get a band to travel miles and miles to play a gig (with their gear, which they share) and then not even give them petrol money DESPITE the pub having a decent crowd, selling lots of drinks and making money. This is pure cheek and disrespect. That being said, I do it and will continue to do it because when your playing originals you gotta put your back out to get noticed.
