  1. And me!
  2. The P Retro is an awesome little preamp, and although I love the versatility of the Uni-pre, which I have in both my fretted basses, I did find the ACG/East P Retro that little bit quicker to find the sweet spot. Might well just be the fact that it's that little bit simpler to use perhaps. Good news all round though Eude
  3. That is gorgeous, congratulations! Eude
  4. I do indeed have a few shorter ACG 6 strings. They're all 31.5" scale and the low B on them is ridiculously good. I doubt I'll ever go back to full sized basses ever again. You can hear the sound of my first 31.5" Alan made for me here >> https://m.soundcloud.com/eudeboy/sets/acg-salace-sc-e-type-samples I don't doubt for a second that even shorter can work too. A good luthier and with the right choice of strings will get you exactly what you want. Eude
  5. Thanks dude, I have tried Ashdown, but they don't produce sleeves for the rack mounted stuff, it's a different size to the sleeved I've made contact with a couple of folks who will build a proper sleeve, just a little pricey so I need to be sure its worth it first. Congrats on the rig though, its a peach! Eude
  6. Lovely set up! Where did you get the sleeve for your ABM RC head? I have one, in need to service and likely repair, but I'd prefer it in a sleeve... Thanks dude! Eude
  7. Ooooooft!
  8. Yeah, there's wriggle room on those Hipshot saddles, side to side. You might manage to get it down to 17mm maybe?
  9. Most 5 string ACGs are 18mm at the bridge as standard.
  10. These guys are a UK distributor >> http://www.stringsandthings.co.uk/ They might be able to help? Eude

    Great to hear mate!

    NBD ACG TKO

    Absolutely gorgeous, congratulations mate!
  13. If you want to avoid coloration, I think your only option would be one of the Greenboy cabs, as they apparently give you exactly what you put in, for better or for worse. They need a lot of power from what I've read. I've also been told that the F110 sounds very similar to the F112, but the F112 can go a bit louder. Eude
  14. That's difference between the S Type and the R Type. Both amazing basses, much like all ACGs. Best of luck with the sale, whoever picks this up won't be disappointed. Eude
  15. Very nice!
  16. That's pure filth!
  17. May I ask which speaker you're using Bill, I assume one of your own?
  18. Another +1 for ACG from me! IF you want a 5 string fretless, they have this one in stock right now >> http://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0267-salace-e-type-fretless-5/ Eude
  19. That sounds amazing!
  20. Thanks dude! The low B is great, it's down to the kind of Voodoo you get when someone makes an instrument diligently and expertly by hand, and some custom strings. The combo of ACG's remarkable skills and the Newtone strings makes it all possible. I don't have any recordings of this bass yet, but I do have some of my headless ACG 6er, same scale length, here >> I'm so happy with the 31.5" scale length now that I don't have any basses any bigger, and they're all 6 strings tuned B to C! Eude
  21. I think it would be forgiven for anything right now, just look at it!
  22. That's wonderful news! Care to share the spec?
  23. Well this little puppy arrived last week... As I'm sure you can expect, I'm beyond delighted with it! It's exactly as I'd hoped, and so so compact and playable. I'll have to try and get a picture of it alongside a full sized Jazz Bass for reference. My other basses are both 31.5" 6 strings too, but they're headless, so even smaller as a result... As I hinted at, this bass is intended to be a bit of a homecoming, based on my first ACG but tweaked to match my now more refined and elegant tastes, and it's hit the spot perfectly More soon, and some proper pics taken in daylight, and maybe even some sound samples! Eude
  24. Oooh, I'm going to have to pick a copy of that up! Thanks for the tip. Now back to the original topic Eude
  25. Very cool mate! The B Series pickups are extremely good pickups, which I'm more than happy with in my basses, but the MC Series are a whole new ball game, the pick up every bit of your playing and are wonderfully balanced and even sounding across the whole range of the bass, a real hifi experience if that makes sense? I'd have them in all my basses if I could afford them, and if they were available in my narrower string spacing, but they aren't for now It looks like Alan has a bass with MC Series pickups in stock at the moment, so if you're lucky, you should be able to give it a go and see what I mean...
