Warwick Streamer Pro M 4 string. ** SOLD **
morsefull replied to morsefull's topic in Basses For Sale
Thanks Lee you're so right about the colour, It looks great in a live situation and the wenge necks are what made Warwick "the bass" in the late 90's. It'd be my main gigging bass but I only play 5 strings now. ( including a rather tasty SSII 5'er ) The combination of maple body, wenge neck and the pickup configuration make this a slap machine tone monster........... ........................................Open to offers as well -

I'm putting my Warwick up for sale. It's a German made 1999 Streamer Pro M in Green oil finish, with a wenge neck and flame maple body. Nice slim fast neck, and sounds huge It's got that typical Warwick growl but more punch in the mid range due to the pickup configuration. It has active MEC 2 band electronics. Controls are; volume, (pull for passive) pickup pan and stacked bass/treble (cut/boost). I'm selling it with a new TKL quality padded case. There are a few knocks in the finish but as you probably know that's par for the course with this stained oil finish. Please see the photos. The bass is in Lichfield Staffs, 15 miles north of Birmingham.

DR Black Beautie Strings - never again....
morsefull replied to intime-nick's topic in Accessories and Misc
I'm rejuvenating this thread as I'm so disappointed with the last 2 sets of DR Black beauties I've had. I always used to buy cheap nickles, then I succumbed to the hype. The first set were replaced after I complained. The second set lasted 3 weeks before going dead. Expensive and IMO a complete waste of my hard earned cash. Never Never again. -
Thanks, I'll get straight onto it

I've got to play 2 separate venues next Sat night. First one's a 1 hr set at a golf club on stage at 8.00pm then the DJ takes over whilst we packup all the drums and backline and head off to do 2 x 45min sets at a private party, on stage at 10.00pm. Luckily they're only 5 miles apart and fairly local to us. We're setting up 2 seperate PA's during the day and picking the first one up the next morning. Good job there's a 12.30am curfew at the last venue I'm working from 6.30am to 5.30pm in the day as well !! I sense a lie in on Sunday. Anyone else done this or similar?

Apparently, said Bride and groom stopped off at the local pub postnuptial, for a "quick one or nine". Then staggered to the reception. Guitarist has gone strangely quiet about the whole thing -
Still, plenty of hog roast to around?
We did ask, but the reply was "No food for the band yet, sorry mate" I knicked some crackling though -

To be fair I'm very happily married and my wife's gently pissing herself laughing as she reads this over my shoulder. -
One of the bands I play in was booked for a wedding last Sat. The groom used to live with our guitarist and consequently we were booked "as a favour" for the incredible price of £65 each (5 piece + ipod disco). It was local and we thought hey, we're not out that night so we may as well do it. 2 hrs before setting off we find that the venue has magically moved from 2 miles away to 15 miles... We arrive at a village hall at 6.30 pm as arranged to set up for the evening. The guests look like they've been regulars on the Jeremy Kyle show and I'm starting to get apprehensive. "Oh well" we say "it might be fine", so a quick sound check and we go outside to relax. The groom is throwing up in the car park. The bride has finished projectile vomiting across the dance floor and is being consoled by her mother. We go outside to find the best man, but he's gone home. At 7.30 pm there are 35 ish people left and some are asking "when are the band on". No-one knows where the bride and groom are so I say sod it lets go on . We start playing and the brides mother appears from nowhere screaming JUST F***K OFF HOME !! THEY'RE NOT HERE!! By this time 2 people are dancing like nothings happened and we tell her politely "we're booked to play and we're playing! Her husband appears and turns all the lights on and the few remaining family members start clearing up, so we play 4 songs and finish. We couldn't find anyone to pay us so we didn't get paid! but then again nor did the hog roast supplier or the venue !! The latest is the newly weds have no money whatsoever........ Tossers. The moral of this story...........NEVER TRUST YOUR GUITARIST TO BOOK A GIG FOR HIS "MATE"
