1. I just took the plunge and booked my first lesson with Steve.( I thought it was about time I learned about what I've been doing. ) A big step for me as I've been playing on and off for 30 years. I must say I'm rather looking forward to it.
2.
Teeth.
+1
3.
I would, but there's no steering wheel at the back of the minbus.
How the other half live!
4.
I've been thinking about buying one of these: http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl...icker%26hl%3Den On longer journeys to gigs I reckon I could be warmed up by the time I get there. Anyone tried/tested/bought one of these?
Why not do what we all do, and play along on the steering wheel whilst "inadvertently" tapping out drum pattens occasionally during song.
5. I'm considering the whole issue of in ear monitoring after our church received a complaint about noise levels last Sunday. Although I have to say I would want control over headphone volumes myself. I won't trust my precious hearing to the sound guy I'm presently using an old Ashdoiwn ABM C115 combo as a monitor. Angled back on a stand, facing stage back and DI'd to FOH.
6. Yeah, I totally agree with Essentialtension it's all about the feel .Lock in with what your drummers doing and make it yours.
7. What! 20 posts and nothing from Warwicksell?............................... er I mean hunt.
8. I own streamer stage II 5 and can honestly say it's awesome. In terms of tone and playability i've not found anything to touch it It's also great in the studio, with great warmth without sacrificing presence . Totally recommended.
9. Hasn't this been "beheaded"? It'd definitely put me off especially as the luthier who repaired the break is in the U.S. He's quoted as saying"the neck will never break in that spot again because of the strength of the epoxy he uses". Maybe, but too much risk methinks
10. I wonder If you can get one for a thumb
11. Ray and I just traded SS1 5 for SS2 5 ( and vice versa!) both happy bunnies. He's a really nice guy and i wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. Hey, I'm old enough to be his dad and suddenly felt ancient when I found myself giving him advice
12. I thought i should say that i bought a mint U.K. made ABM C115-500 EVO from this seller and he is a nice guy. I play in a church and it gets used 3/4 times a week and it's not missed a beat (unlike me). I'm very happy with it and would recommend him as a seller. Oh , and you pronounce it "dud..lie.."
13. Hey Paul, I'm a market trader and even I'M struggling to understand the manual. no wonder you're finding things hard...
14. After hours of button pressing and lots of expletives i managed to get a level that i could hear above the mp3 playback. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with the bass sound but if i EQ it the bass gets lost in the mix. Next step is to buy a seperate bass preamp to boost the input signal. Things are starting to get expensive. I hear great things about this unit, so let's hope things have started off on the wrong foot and i get some better results with recording.
15. Hi guys. After a bit of research i've just bought a boss micro br. I'll be using it mainly as a phrase trainer.(for bass) Initially, I'm a little overwhelmed by its complexity, but I'm sure this will change as I use it more. My main problem is setting the volume levels, no matter what I seem to do my bass volume is too quiet compared to the mp3 playback. I've adjusted the input level and sensitivity to max,and tried playing with preamp settings (but only get distortion and i need a clean sound). Is there any way to reduce mp3 playback levels seperately? I play an old JayDee Supernatural Session which has quite a low output. Any tips would be appreciated....... Cheers.

17.
No probs... Good stuff developing..... Quick thought, ..! Might it be because W keep the same models runnig for quite some time untill there is a lot of them around? hence the price will naturally have to drop as demand does? Dont get me wrong I like the idea of makers making a product that you can trust and depend upon, however you make too many and there is no-one left to buy them new? Waddya reckon?
What's happening to the retail prices if the used market is taking such a caning? I can't see the point in buying a new model if it depreciates so much in a year or 2. I'd rather have a punt on a good oldun ( as they say up here in brummyland), and even at present prices I'd still be worried about re-sale values if we go into a recession. Oh dear, is the glass half empty ........................but you know what they say; "A pessimist is only an optimist with experience"

19. What's happening to the price of Warwicks' ? last month there was this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warwick-Streamer-Sta...1QQcmdZViewItem A 2005 SS1 4 (with case) sells for £570 now yesterday, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=017 Another SS1 4 (again with case) for £531!! And;http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150161365169&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=005 A mint lx jazzman 4 for £630 Is there just a glut? Or are these prices a reflection of money getting tight?
20.
27 years or not... Father says NO!
HEY HEY! Tell me more .What should I be looking at?? I wouldn't want to upset the man upstairs
21. Played a SS1 5 string today and loved it. Especially the neck. I was expecting a big old plank but although it's a broadneck I found it nice and comfy. Now the search begins! It's either a thumb nt 5 broadneck or a ss1 5 Hey why not jump in feet first for your first gas attack in 27 years!
22. I'd recently played a thumb nt 4 mec',s great sound! So I placed an offer on the nt 5 but lost out to a richer guy than me. (must be a student ) Then today I dabbled with a ss1 5 WOW!! I felt at home on the neck straight away. It's gorgeous! sound was a little more subtle than the thumb but both were really good. I was expecting a big old plank but although it's a broadneck I found it nice and comfy. In a way I'm relieved to lose the thumb because as warwickhunt said "I'm not struck on the aesthetics". I thought the big soapbars looked a little ................overpowering.(and it wasn't a broadneck.) Now the search begins! It's either a thumb nt 5 broadneck or a ss1 5 Hey why not jump in feet first for your first gas attack in 27 years!
23.
Tech question I believe...
Sorry, wasn't sure where to post
24. I just love that warwick growl but £1k for a bass makes me quake! I'm assuming that by buying used if I make a big mistake then I should be able to sell on and not lose too much. Anyway it's early days yet. Is there anything else I should be considering with a similar tone?
