Ok, It's probably best for me to calm down a bit. I've PM'd the seller and am awaiting his reply. I want the Marketplace to be everything we need it to be. Open, transparent and a place where we can trust each other. I remember a thread a long time ago when someone paid for a bass and didn't receive it and the response from the Basschat " family" was amazing. If I remember correctly he got either the bass or his money back. Now I'm not at all out of pocket but it's important that we are all aware of the issues that can arise relating to sales here. The more we discuss various issues the better it'll be for all, whether selling or buying.

If the marketplace is going to continue to be a place where we can buy and sell with confidence then people need to be aware of the need for dealing in a trustworthy and transparent way. My issue is that I sold my bass to buy this. It also took the seller almost a month to decide they didn't want to sell to me. Also the sale thread is still alive ??

My mouse skills are crap, closely followed by my editing skills...

Anyway I've reported the "Sorry but I'm afraid I won't be able to deal with you on the Skjold" post to the mods. I suppose It's a case of buyer beware.

To be fair I've never had any problems until recently. I'm going to put it down to the tory government.

I've had a few bad experiences lately when selling basses on the Marketplace, with people backing out of a sale at the last minute. But now It's happened the other way round . I see a bass I want on the basses for sale section. I make an offer which is turned down ( fair enough) I few weeks later, I send this PM. "Hi ****** I just need to check if the Skjolds still available as someone's coming to try my main gigging bass on Sunday with view to a sale. Cheers, Si" Replied ."Hiya Si! Hope all's well mate.Yes sir! " I proceed to sell my bass to Wayne (Waynesworld off here, lovely bloke) on the 14th June. I then accept a price offered to me via PM on the 17th June. After numerous PM's emails and texts back and forth I offer to meet halfway to collect. Not possible. Ok I think, I'm recording a live video soon and need the bass so I offer to drive 3hrs to pick it up. Today,almost a month after My offer was accepted I receive this PM. " Hiya Simon. Hope you had a nice weekend mate. I'm so sorry to disappoint you, but I'm afraid I won't be able to do the deal with you on the Skjold. I hope you can find another outlet for your GAS in the for sale section All the best for the video later this month" Bloody brilliant.I now have to try and borrow a bass to record the video. I've always felt this was a great forum and have (Until recently) never experienced any untrustworthy behavior, but i my recent experience it's getting common place. I'm totally pissed off. Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Just squeeze the windings with some pliers. It works great on my 5 string warwicks.

What a lovely guy !! Sold my Lakland to Wayne today, it's transactions like these that make me glad to be a member of the Basschat community Totally and unreservedly recommended.
