You'd have to try out the bassballs in person to really get a feel for it. i had one and it really only has two sounds in it. If you couldnt live without those two sounds then great! but i just couldnt fit them in anywhere. Cant offer an opinion on the Q-Tron im afraid, Although +1 to the Digitech BSW

im pretty sure my warwick rig is going to be up for sale in the next few weeks, so i thought id let you all know! its been trusty and never let me down but i just need something BIGGER! PRICE DROP TO 250 so for sale is, Warwick Pro Fet 3.2S bass head http://www.basscentre.com/cat/product_info...842aada81d22dfe And Warwick 410 Pro Cabinet 4ohm (so all 300 watts will be at your disposal!) http://www.basscentre.com/cat/product_info...842aada81d22dfe There has only ever been one problem with the cab, and that is one of the speakers has blown. Now because only one of the speakers has gone, and not all four im very confident in saying that this is a component fault and not due to misuse. This will be replaced before the sale goes through, or we can come to some sort of agreement cashwise. Ive been using it fine with just three of the speakers during recent practices. 400 for the pair? heres a picture of the actual rig Pickup only from blackpool area im afraid, could probably stretch as far as preston for a little petrol money

Question that hasnt been answered that im fair interested in, are tube amps less bothered about whether you put guitar or bass through them? Ive seen a couple of randall all tube guitar heads go for fair money that ive really wanted to see what would happen if i tried bass through them. Put my GT6B in front and use that for any EQ adjustments? hmm.

But my tool looks better than your tool.

Thats what we like to hear at basschat, Guy struggling with sentinmental bass, Fixes it, and buys himself a new bass to compensate for the time he spent worrying, Good luck with those two wonderful basses!

Hmm, i actually use myspace to contact him at the moment (but thats my e-mails fault, not his!) If your still interested try hitting him up on there Bobs space.

I think its going to be very hit and miss with the warwick stuff, Some people love it, some people cant stand it. however the actual items in question arnt what you normally see on sale warwick wise, so you should get a fair price, im a bit reluctant to give you figures but probably around 350 for the cab and 500 for the head? Im no expert, Just spend too much time lurking ebay!
Dava control picks for me. They're thinner in the middle, so by varying where you hold them they can vary in stiffness, which really helps if you want a dynamic range to your sound.
Was just about to go tinternet browsing to show people those, yes indeed, although the only problem i have is that when im using that light gauge "mode" if you will, sometimes the ridges get caught on the strings, now i think about it thats probably just down to poor technique though.

Im forever told that curiosity kills cats, but im not cat, so i figured the worst that could happen is that ill just have a slightly lighter wallet if all goes wrong! Yes, ive ordered a mule bass. As a full time student, this seemed like the perfect oppertunity to get a custom bass at a price a summer job would cover, and so far, Bob has been brilliant at sorting out what i want. That shape, with a wenge 24 fretted neck. Ive aquired a Custom basslines MM from a modulous (thanks tony, money will be on its way shortly!) and a J that are going to be used. Figured sapele body, With a contrast veneer running through the centre to give a pinstripe effect round the edge. Hopefully when i get it (septemberish) i shall be able to sing his praises and you will all have yet another option on great british basses!

Im not the first, and im sure i wont be the last, but simply inspirational playing there nate!

Jesus guys, this isnt talkbass youknow?

i have to agree with the use of abletone and a live trigger. however If you dont already have a laptop handy then it may start getting pretty pricey. The joy of it is you can use any trigger you like. We tried having our guitarist using a behringer midi footswitch for a while, but then switched to a Korg PadKontrol as we could give it to one of the already playing synths and do lots of rather cool modulation bits and bobs. It is a lot easier than using racks when you get used to it, you can import samples from anywhere! If our guitarist comes up with a funky little breakbeat on fruitloops or something he can stick it on a pendrive, set the tempo then play it over a section in the track! I think you can even sort out tap tempos and stuff on the fly. Hmm!

I can see exactly where your coming from, but to be honest i feel like a bit of an ass telling the rest of my band that i wanted us to play at a bass playing convention!

I remember this being the first shortscale id played, It was a friends id burrowed as a backup (which i didnt actually end up needing) but it played nicely, and didnt muddy up much at all in soundcheck. Couldnt help but think it was a four string guitar though! aha.

If so that would be a brilliant little modding machine, Hell, it might even sound alright on its own, theres a chance!
