1. i wont lie to you thats bloody brilliant that!
2. i have to change my strings quite often because i do sweat like a bastard when i play and so they get very dirty even with a wipe down after practice and performances so they get very dirty and clog up and go dead and they become weak as well i have broken a few strings in my time unfortunately. i'm guilty of breaking the odd E string so the whole string situation can be expensive some times
3. good to know i'm not the only one who has suffered this, yeah am fairly handy with a soldering iron so i'll open her up and give her a good clean if i get chance to put a picture up i will but thankyou for the advice and help much appreciated cos i just didnt know what to do.
4.
It was all dood. Seriously, Ever tried saying no to a wookie? this is comparable.
i commend you for your efforts... i can see how dood would be a very dominant lover though
5. i own a Vintage Marshall Bass Combo and its a great sounding amp... when the fecking thing works its (since i took ownership of it) been crackling when i turn certain knobs to adjust certain things, not only does it crackle but it also loses volume so i adjust the volume to bring it back to where it was and it then stays there but then crackles back into life at increased volume which can be a pain in the arse some times when i'm trying to practice... the only control which causes a crackling sound is the Contour control, the volume dip however can occur at random times i could be playing through it for an hour and it wont happen or i could be playing through it for 5 minutes and it will crackle and the volume dip will occur, its just completely unreliable, its a marvelous amp but i can't trust it to gig with, i'm just glad i have my Peavey TKO75 which has been my work horse but just doesnt have the balls for what i need anymore so need to try and fix the marshall. here's the details and specifications for the amp: 200 Watts. Serial No. 5319 50/60hz (240v mains) Model No. is unfortunately unreadable as the amp is so old it was written on the back and has since faded. Any help you guys can give me as to what might be wrong or what the next step should be in fixing this problem or if you reckon i should just take it to a shop or is this a problem i can sort my self. thankyou for any comments and help. 6. i reckon the moderators have been breeding again
7. i suppose for me when i first picked up bass i learnt songs first but then because i was bought up on queen i honed in on John and his melodies and the dusty end bits he would play in some of the intro's to some of queens ballads so when i have to noodle and solo and get up the dusty end i like to emulate john... where as with my general playing style and attitude and on stage i moved towards Rob Trujillo because the man is a monster on the stage and has serious chops i even adapted his stance the way he holds and plays the bass and also his walk... so for me i kind of take Rob as my main bass idol and emulate him and also throw in my own mannerisms and attitude and if i have to noodle and solo and get up the dusty end of the neck i suddenly become the curly haired statue that is John Deacon who is a legend in his own right... but i did go about it in my own way i would sometimes just sit and noodle for hours on end and then other times i would focus in on a certain technique or a certain riff or solo that they play and then adapt it to the comfiest way of doing it for me...
8. i had major respect for Rob before doing this i hold him as my bass idol along with John Deacon if it wasnt for those two i would never of played the instrument... but now he's done this i should imagine he is very close to that instrument and will play it his way which i think Jaco would of wanted to be honest... and my respect level for him has just increased ten fold... good man rob... p.s i never liked jason, not a big fan of Cliff's tone, loved his playing but couldnt listen to him for long where as Rob i can listen to all day and never get bored.
9. dude respects on the setlist that is truly epic! i'd love to of had a setlist like that when i last gigged, we had 10 songs and that was it! glad it went well for and break a leg for the one in 2 weeks time hope it goes just as well
10.
Worst nightmare ? Waking up realising playing bass was a dream and I actually play banjo
bloody hell dont scare me like that... i swear to god if i dream about playing banjo tonight i'm coming for you
11. yeah i would agree with this i've tried playing on the beat with my index and i tend to fluff up but where as if i start on my middle finger and keep going i stay strong all the way through i dont know what it is must just be one of those things...

15.
Congrats TTS .. Can't find it though but there is one called "Journey Through the Low End"... I'm assuming that's not yous? Can you post a link or something? Thanks
unfortunately i can't post a link from itunes but if you narrow the search by typing into the search tool this "the fred a journey to the low end" then it should bring you up the album if you then click on the album cover you can see the tracks in the correct order... Thanks for taking an interest though
16.
As I said, sorry if I sound too critical - It's the music teacher in me coming out
no its ok honestly because i had just started lessons when i began laying tracks down so they do develop cos i got my teacher to come into the studio with me and got him to tell me where i was going wrong i welcome any comments at all critical or not...
17. ok as far as a link goes i'm unable to get a link from itunes unfortunately, if you narrow the search down by typing "the fred a journey to the low end" this should bring it up then if you click on the album cover it will bring up the tracks in the correct order i dont know why they jumble it all up thats annoying...
18. apologies guys having just checked the album my self on itunes the tracks arent in the order i uploaded them so i apologise for that, but i know what you mean now about track 1 that one is the weak track of the album and for me its not my favourite and was completely improvised so i apologise for the off notes it was at this point i was just shooting in the dark with everything that one (when a mans not slept) and (blues man) were the first tracks i did and so arent the best as i slowly got more and more familiar with everything they do improve... i know for the future though...
19.
Just had a listen to all the previews of the tracks - Some interesting and varied material there & very good for a first attempt. I'm confused on one point, though - Was the "tune" in track one meant to totally clash with everything else? The harmony, chord progressions & bass line just didn't go together for me. Is this intentional, or am I just old fashioned? Also, make sure your instruments are exactly in tune before you record - Some of the acoustic guitar and bass intonation is eeeew! Hope I'm not sounding too critical - It is good to see you getting your music out there & on iTunes as well! Well done
it just happened that way alot of the tracks were written and then recorded almost straight away with an acoustic and then i took a note of the chords and laid down the bass and the drums so if some of it is off i apologise it wasnt supposed to be alot of this album is improv so i apologise for that, and with regards to tuning i used a chromatic tuner so i hoped everything was in tune obviously it wasnt i apologise to the sensitive ears... you'll be glad to hear i have progressed 10 fold since i produced this album but i'm still incredibly proud of it thanks for your comments though... and i will try and find a link for you now...
20.
For me, no other genre comes close to jazz because I don't think of jazz as a genre (fusion, at least). It's a bunch of musicians being in the moment and feeling it, it lasts for as long as it wants and is never the same, you can't put a label on that.
Hoorah to that man!
21. in november last year i began writing material for a personal bass lead album... it started out as a bluesy kind of album but it slowly developed into a sort of personal journey through those couple of months leading up to may of this year when the recording was done and it was finally published to itunes... my bass playing abilities and knowledge have progressed massively since i did this album but i am still incredibly proud of it... its available now on itunes to buy and is under the title "a journey to the low end" i would love it if you all would go and have a listen and tell me what you think it would mean an awful lot to get some feedback from some fellow bassists... little foot note as well the whole thing was done by me all the instruments and vocals you hear except for the guests were done by me, it was all recorded, engineered and mix and mastered and produced by me and all the plugging and selling and production of the CD's and now on to itunes was all done by me... its my little baby you might say... so i would love it if you go and check it out and let me know what you think! Thanks guys! Teen T-shirt (Freddie)
22. i seem to be suffering the opposite right now, i've just moved to norfolk and am looking for a band and as of yet nothing... anyone else suffer from not being able to find a band? if anyone knows of anything going on in norfolk btw could you PM me any details! thankyou

24. i've just recently returned home from boarding college and am now on the look out for a working regularly gigging band in norfolk i have been playing rock, blues and metal for the last 5 years so any of those would be preferable but i am more than willing to play any genre. no preferences to cover or original band i'm quite happy to do either. Influences are: Metallica, Queen, Nickelback, ZZ top, 3 doors down, three days grace, thousand foot krutch, bullet for my valentine... pretty much anything really... brief history of my playing. i've been playing for 5 years now and have a had a years worth of paid lessons which by the end i was studying grade 8 rock school pieces so i am confident in both my technical ability and have previous live performance experience so if your looking for some one to perform for you i'm your man. i play a Peavey Millenium BXP 4 string and a Squier jazz special 5 string. at present i am available both weekdays and weekends this may change but not drastically as i am currently looking for work. if you have any further questions that i havent answered then please PM me. Thanks Teen T-shirt (Freddie)
