1.
As far as Warwick go, the $$ is not the kind. The Thumb is the one, even when people can't get on with the looks, feel or balance (I never had any trouble with mine), the Thumb is easily the most "Warwick" sounding Warwick bass!
It's the thumb that I'm ideally wanting to get eventually, I've listed this as open to cash offers as well now, selling a brand new boss gt-10b multi-effects...both in the hope i can afford this thumb bass
2. I bought this a week ago from merchant city music in glasgow, managed to get the last one in the shop, but after a week of going through all the effects i'de came to the conclusion that effect's aren't really for me and i prefer the natural bass tone. this is where i bought it from http://www.guitar.co.uk/effects/multi-effe...fects_processor it's in brand new condition...not a mark on it! ideally i would be looking for around £320 ono and even then i'm making quite a big loss but i need money to invest in a new bass. will consider trades but not for effects. cheer's Cameron.
3.
Ahh, the Warwick is a 4-string (perhaps one too few for you?). How it looks?! Image is nothing, tone is everything and the $$ is king
very true and actually i've noticed that I haven't been using the low B string as much as i used to....i went to some amount of trouble to get the K5 as well, it's a great bass but i do prefer the tone of warwicks (despite being a massive korn fan). so how much cash would i have to add to the trade? although i prefer the string spacing on 5 strings i think theres no point in having the extra string when i no longer use it. even though i'm not obsessive in the slightest about the asthetics, do you have any pictures of the $$? cheers
4.
hey i have a 4 string acoustic ibanez ewb, a 4 string active pick ups shine, and a 4 string rickenbacker copy with a slight electrical fault (one of the wires from the jack needs soildering back on to the board) would you like to consider some combination of one/2/all of these for trade or maybe part exhange iwould be willing to put cash towards it too, been looking for a 5 string ibanez and this would be perfect
thanks for the offer but i'm more interested in quality over quantity and i'm not looking for an acoustic bass at the moment. thanks though and good luck with selling them
5. I'll throw my kidney into the deal? just kidding but good luck with the sale, if i had the money i'de have bought it by now....once i get a job, shall be my first big purchase.
6.
I have a Warwick Corvette $$ which I might consider trading.....with a cash adjustment in my favour..
how many strings is the Warwick? And how much 'cash adjustment' would be nesasarry? i'm not a massive fan of how the double buck looks.
7. hi, bit of a long shot but would you consider a swap for an ibanez k5 OL (original version) and a boss gt-10b multi-effects? the GT-10B is brand new (just bought about a week ago, i love them both to pieces but a thumb is a dream bass of mine and i can't afford money lol
8. it's times like this when i wish i had money. all i have is an ibanez k5 that im looking to swap......damn the resession, my dream bass your selling haha. edit : i'll give you ibanez k5 and my lung. lol
9. just throwing this out there but would you consider a trade for an Ibanez k5 OL (original one, not black) pretty desperate to get my hands on a warwick, i love the k5 to pieces but i do like me some warwick lol.
10. bit of a long shot but worth a try, would you be interested in a trade for a Ibanez k5 OL? (original version, not black)
11. hey all, i'm considering trading my Ibanez k5 OL for another bass (not bothered about 4 or 5 string) The bass is in pretty much perfect condition except from very slight scratching on the back which is only noticable in certain light (i'll provide a few photo's in the morning) the closest to a sound sample i can provide is a cover i done which i put on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOaDxNJBJGw ideally i would like a warwick corvette (4 or 5 stringer) but i'm open to offers thanks, i'll put up photo's in the morning (it's too late just now and my camera's ran out of battery) any questions just ask edit : if anybody has a warwick thumb i'de consider throwing in my boss GT-10B multi-effects, which is brand new I will now consider selling the bass and would like around £500 ono....this version is out of productions and very hard to find now (i spent about 3 months searching for this one)
12. It all really depends on what/how i'm playing it, if it's a slap thing i'm playing i often just mute it with my fretting hand (and try and avoid hitting it) but i use the low B string as a thum rest quite a lot when im playing down in the D and G strings
13. 1. Les Claypool : his solo on youtube is the single video that made me say "i'm gonna get a bass" 2. Reginald 'Fieldy' Arvizu : i know a lot of bassists hate him but i love him and i've loved korn since i was 6 (10 years) 3. Ryan Martinie : only recently started listening to mudvayne but his basslines are incredibly melodic and technical and just all round amazing 4. Mark King : need I say more? 5. Stanley Clarke : ditto to my Mark King comment
14.
Greetings Cameron, Welcome to the Basschat, I have been having lessons for about 4 months now, I am also looking for a suitable multi effects Pedal, think its going to be the Zoom B2 1 U, as its got everything I need like Usb, Drums, MP3 input to play along etc. Have a look at it. What made you start with a Five string ?
i've had a look at pretty much every multi-effects and decided i'm going for a boss GT-10B (if i can find it for a decent-ish price) the B2 1 U seem's good but it doesn't look like enough....plus i've heard amazing things about the GT-10B. I started with a 4 string but shortly after I realised I needed a 5 string to play a lot of music I wanted to.....and i'm a pretty big korn fan so i really wanted to play their songs. my honest opinion, i prefer 5 string bass's because the string spacing is closer, it's a bit annoying for certain slap riffs but over-all i find it so much easier to play than 4 strings
15. hi there, i know it's an old post but it doesn't say sold. is the pedal still for sale? i'm desperate for this pedal but a little bit short on the £310+ price mark lol. if it is still available could you e-mail me on [email protected] thanks, Cameron
16. hey, i know it's a long shot (cause the post is so old) but it doesn't say that it's sold so is the pedal still for sale? if so could you send me an e-mail at [email protected] desperate for a GT-10B lol Thanks
17. No idea what to type in here but i'm new to forums in general (except a few like head-fi etc) but i've been playing bass for 6 months, one month of which was unfortunatly spent in hospital following an operation. i play pretty much every kind of music from band's like korn, mudvayne (very hard to play) to primus, megadeth, cage the elephant, soundgarden and even attempted to learn mr pink (as a joke to see if i could). i play a 5 string ibanez K5 OL (Fieldy Signature bass), i have a small cheap practice amp but i live in a flat so even though it's 20watt's it's more than enough. looking into investing in a multi-effects pedal so i can learn song's that need envelope filters etc (i hate being limited) anyhoo, Just saying hi to everybody cause i'm new to the forum hope everybody enjoyed their Christmas!
18. i remember reading someone on the CT bass website that Les Claypool used to use 2 A strings and 2 D strings on one bass, i thought that was weird but 4 E strings? craziness!
19. the last bassline i learned (well i learned these both on the same day) was golden boy by primus and the intro to mr pink by level 42, the only reason I even attempted mr pink was genuinly to see if i could do it (i've only been playing 6 months so i thought it would be funny) but it turns out that I can play it lol.
