1. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo that was a steal.
2.
Completely forgot - sold my first ever bass which was a really nice little brand new '78 Fender Musicmaster in white
I have the exact same regret!
3. arrrrrgh I want 2nd dibs on this please! I'm only in stoke too. Please can you verify what this actually includes.
4.
Hi folks - as a bit of a tech numpty, is there any chance someone could recommend a good signal chain for these pedals? Much appreciated! Sansamp Bass Driver EBS Multicomp (compressor) EBS IQ (envelope filter) Boss Heavy Metail disortion Boss Bass Flanger BF 2B ISP Decimator (noise suppressor) Thank you, Steve
Sansamp Bass Driver EBS IQ (envelope filter) Boss Bass Flanger BF 2B EBS Multicomp (compressor) Boss Heavy Metail disortion ISP Decimator (noise suppressor) But obviously there are no set rules and you don't have many so just try every possible combo.
5. I was in a 3 peice originals, and I understand your point, but I maintain, I would be bored gigging without at least 5 pedals. I would have no problem using them tastefully and to great effect. The audience wouldn't necessarily notice, but that's not the point, the point is to enjoy the gig, surely?
6. I would get bored gigging without effects. I need to be able to boost the bottom to make choruses massive, and add dirt for riffs etc. I suppose that's about all i'd use on a covers gig (never done one). Lots of people use multi-fx setups live and they are fine. The problem is you want to be able to "set and forget" about all your patches, but you do have to change them occasionally depending on the gig, which is annoying. Then again, it's a lot easier to carry and set up than a big pedal board. Both line 6 and boss do a multi-distortion box, so you can switch between different stored distortion patches. It might be worth trying one of these as they're only the size of 2 singles and obviously simpler to use than a big multi.
7.
Hi mate, you can get a new shock mount for the SE2200A here for £50, but it is a bit steep, you could probably fashion a new bungerr cord out of something. Good mics though for the price, them.
I already have one and wanted to make a pair, it's a great mic. Also, I have one of the yamaha baritones which is great!
8. does it sit OK in the shock mount with the broken cord?
9. I can't find the exact spec but I thought it had a good 3-4 amps which is more than enough.
10.
apart from being overkill - too big - and maybe even ugly what do you think?
Those were my only thoughts sorry! Would a burkey one do the trick?
11. Will that blend A+B as well as switch between?
12. LS-2 Do you need it to have EQ on aswell or something?
13. I used to use a capo all the time, on a 6 string bass. It was one for a classical guitar (wider neck) and it didn't cover the C string properly.
14. Ahhh, I was wondering if you had them set up for massive mental harmonies or something. I love the wahs on the XP-100. I found the octave down to be just as good as my OC-2 so I gave it to my guitarist! Heh. BTW of course the ladies love the whammies, are you on the muse board by any chance?
15. I bought some studio spares NS-10s and they're a bit sh*t IMHO. Anyone else used these? Am I doing something wrong?
16. I don't really think distortion affects the pitch at all, but I suppose it could effect how responsive the tuner is. You should be tuning on mute anyway so it'd be fine.
17. Why do you need 2 whammies and an octaver?
18.
I know what you mean - my last band was a blues band that agreed (under duress) to pick up a cancellation by a functions band, so we had to learn some new stuff really quickly. At my first attempt to play the synth intro to Mercy by Duffy I stomped on the Q-Tron to get a really squelchy Bootsy-type sound ... and everyone stared in amazement. The rhythm guitarist who was also the MD said "I didn't know you could do that - just keep doing it." Of course, we didn't have a keyboard player ...
olol bootsy would have sounded miles better as a keyboard player?!?!??
19.
I just can't see the point in deliberately competing with a keyboard player - in any effects head-to-head he's gonna win hands-down.
I don't see it as competition at all. It should be reinforcement.
20. I've recently come to the conclusion that this idea that each instrument needs to occupy a set frequency range(s) and not interfere with eachother is a load of balls. People think that when you're in a 3 peice that effects on bass are great, but as soon as you get another guitarist, or a keyboard player, then you suddenly can't hear the effects anymore? Of course you can! Even if all it sounds like you're doing to the audience is doubling the keyboard, notes and sounds, I don't think that matters, you're still contributing to the sound in a way that you couldn't without the effects.
21. I really liked my putting my bass balls into my big muff. Also, wah before distortion is the same thing, and that's pretty standard. I really like it the other way round too, but as this guy has the IQ and the Agent 00 he may aswell have both options.
22. weirdos, just try it!
