1. The Viola suffers from that so I bought a long strap and fixed it (acoustic guitar style) to the neck. Job done no more neck dive!
2. Cool vid, especially liked the intro. You just wait in anticipation of the heavy riffing Great stuff
3.
Don't joke! I came across this at the weekend: AC/DC for Ukulele
NOW I have GAS for a Ukulele........... this site is driving me mad!
4.
wow Thanks for the prompt replies guys on your low to high recommendation F# B E A D G would you say dropping the F# to an E would be ok so i match the 8 string guitar work?
Theres no problem with that, but you can lose pitch definition. Also, F# keeps learned paterns correct (IMO)
5. There you all go again about 'changing' strings! I've only bought one set of strings in my life and they are still in the packet!
6. If you are tuning a 6 string bass then keep it in 5th's. Low to high: F# B E A D G or B E A D G C
7. I sold all but four of my guitars late last year (I had 12). Up to three basses now. One more and I will try and keep it at that!
8. Funny that if I say I can't play it in a different key, I'm told to buckle down and learn it. The singer can't sing it and it's well you will just have to transpose it into a key I can sing in......
9. Welcome to the forum!
10. Welcome to BassChat Nice bass by the way!
11. I hear what you are saying but lessons are the way to go!
12. Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues Radar Love - Golden Earring Plus just noodling on the fretless......
13. The clip was awful but I am sure there are some clips around that some of you chaps wish didn't exist........ Still, I am no master of the bass so I will slink off and practice a bit more
14. I too am a recent convert :-)
15. I gave up on FB and managed two hours practice a night...... Joined BassChat and that dropped to an hour a night. ...... now I am taking lessons, it's back to 2 hours and just the odd hour on here So to answer the OP, YES I do spend to much time on here!
16. This is me on my daughters Ibanez SRX700 (just before she sold it!). Not brilliant but I did enjoy myself......
17. Really liked it. I wouldn't put prices on. It's better to personalise the quote (clients don't like to let everyone know how much it all costs!). Blademan
18.
Here's another. Strange looking Hutchins 4 + 6 string doubleneck. Quite low BIN
Ahh come off it, you chaps are killing me here! Now, how do I sneak this in to the house? Only £150!
19. It seems to be catching this 'picking up a bass because no one else wants to'. I think it's the best decision I have made in a long while Welcome to BassChat!
20.
Hi there Blademan, Any Jeff Beck, Bill Frisell, Albert King, Albert Lee, Steve Vai, The Idle Race, Creation????
I'm afraid I don't have any of those. Since I put my collection onto MP3, I seem to have given away some choice albums. Jeff Beck/Albert Lee I could have done (drat!). Oh well, I do have Cream's farewell concert on DVD if that's of any interest? Cheers Blademan
21. I WANT it I can't afford it, I have no use for it, and the misses would probably strangle me! But hey, rock and roll
22. What sort of stuff do you like? I'm a big Clapton fan so will take it if you can give some idea for a swap? Cheers Blademan
