1. I plug the guitar or bass into my PX4R and play. I put those tracks into Audacity and export it to MP3.........
 2.
Just joined here. Too late for me to enter this and I wouldn't know where to start anyway! Good luck to you all. Some nice entries so far!
Welcome aboard! It's not too late. Grab a bass and record your gut feeling. It's what I did Mine might not have the polished quality of the others but as Silldx says, if it come from your soul it's all good!
 3. I have not watched the show myself but my daughters have. It is aimed at the young - it gives them the feel good factor. The hope that fame and fortune can come to the ordinary person. That is what entertainment has been about since the war years. Opium for the masses I like making my own music. Playing in a band. Listening to blues, rock and even jazz lol. If you don't like it don't listen and agree with your other half, yes you do take music very seriously!!!!
 4. The quality of the entries is superb. Very creative with superb playing from all. Good luck to you my bass playing musicians
 5. or, find another band first, then leave. That way you are gigging and don't loose out on the money/experience/practice/(whatever reason you are doing it for) and will have time and space to find the next project. I would have a de-brief also to let them know that you didn't think much of the performance!
 6.
for me it has been completely fulfilling. 1st, I finished my contribution to the november 2012 composing competition, only have to mix and master it properly on sunday (tomorrow - today? . then later his evening I had the 1st gig with my jazz trio (drums, keys, bass) to perform some songs of our 1st album. it was a complete blast. one of the most promising female singers in hamburg entered the stage just to join us during our set and this song was a real blast. we improvised over our themes to make her feel comfortable and it just rocked, if I'm allowed to use this expression in jazz context. well, it helped that our 1st performance was on the birthdayparty of the label-owner and producer of our 1st album so we could really make some cool contacts, but it was rally cool since we agreed to do a collaboration with the great singer within the next 2 months. so, it was a fantastic day!
I just had a look at your web page and bands. Looks like a lot of fun you are having out in Hamburg! I've been to Espelcamp and Minden a few times (about 200 km south of you) for work but the music scene was non existant I like your competition entry it really works with the pictures. 7.
thanks to basschat, I was able to get back into producing. here is my humble contribution of what the 2 great pics of Sliddx and Skol303 made me to do within around 22 hours: http://soundcloud.co.../krysh-the-face I hope you enjoy even a little bit of how much I enjoyed working on it. and please feel free to give feedback. cheers!
I really liked what you've done there Great rhythm and superb bass playing. Your vocals are really cool too.
 8. The latest incarnation of The Underdogs is great. I feel that I must become a complete ar*e and ruin it all as it is too much fun
 9.
Very well done. The quality of the is already high. I'm working on something but you look like making it difficult for my to improve on the two votes I got last time
Two votes, you lucky chap, I didn't get any!!!
 10.
Here we go. When I saw the photos, my over-riding impression was of clowns; the mask being pulled off by Freddy (a Kiss mask, if I am not mistaken) was a little clown-like, the second 'skull' image was surprisingly clown-like despite its intentions and Saville presented himself as clown-like in his dealings with children/the media. So I was left with this sense that clowns are often not what they seem and whilst we, as adults associate them with fun and laughter, many children are afraid of them.....there's a reason and, to my eyes, that reason is evident in the images we were working to. So I open the piece with the 'la, la laaaa, theme from Jim'll fix it (first 8 bars although it is reharmonised with a minor feel so may sound 'odd') which morphs into the Scooby Doo theme. After those themes are developed, the 'heavy' part of the piece starts (reflecting the second 'skull' image) and the three themes come together in the closing stages. I have to say that this is probably the most sophisticated composition I have ever done using Cubase etc and there are faults (some of the levels are slightly askew due to glitches in my software and, for some reason, the bass sound I used (Midi) didn't come out in the final mix (ironic, eh?). I stress there is NO bass guitar or double bass on this tune, it is midi orchestra, various other midi instruments and guitar (Gibson ES175 through Pro Co Rat and vst amp simulators). It's nowhere near perfect but I am pretty pleased with it. http://soundcloud.co...theres-a-reason
Wow, that is superb! Really great sound - full on. Well done Bilbo
 11.
Right then. Heres my attempt. Not entirely happy with it, but bored listening to #2 son's excuses for not adding a bit of guitar to the second bit so went with some old bolloxs I eventually managed Run Scoob or Jim'll FixYa And under 3 mins as well
That is superb! I really enjoyed listening to that. The bass line is really cool.
I've had little time to start recording and I'll start tomorrow, but I've got so little time next week. I have thought about what I want to do though, so it should get done reasonably quickly once I start. I like the ones up already, WalMan's is great, and Blademan has surpassed himself this month. It's gonna be tough.
You are too kind my friend I really hope you can get a track up. It's been fun!
 12.
i reverted back to the previous version, it will work for now however if the flashes are a bit short for you then dont worry i will manage to get that version back up tomorrow.
I have been having a play today and the flash length is not such a problem. I have tried it in dim light (stage setting) and it is fine. Thanks, it is a cool app
 13.
The Jim Jones Revue - the savage heart. Saw them a couple of weeks ago and it was indeed a rawkus rawk n roll show.
I was listening to your soundcloud page then moved onto my own
 14. Reading music. I love this divide of those who do and those who don't (along with associated reasons). Good job that we are not all the same otherwise this would be a boring forum!
 15. I really liked 'in the dark' good driving bass and an even mix. When listening to a new band, I usually ask myself if I would buy it..... and yes I would most probably buy that track
 16. I too have downloaded and had a play with this on my S2. Nice little app, well done. I did find the flash so brief I struggled to see it. I will use it at the next rehearsal and let you know how it goes used in a real life situation Good work.
 17.
Singing! I kind of make noises into the stick thing with the cable coming out, people are getting really technical with this competition stuff! Singing, chords, drum tracks laid down, what the hell is everyone on about! What happened to pluck the strings and shout
Absolutely
 18. As Silddx says, good production and very well played. I've clicked follow as I like what you are doing
 19.
I think one month we should have a "speed round" where we all have to try and compose a piece in a single day
Mine was composed and recorded in a single day. ......and it shows!
 20.
That implies I am a good composer Tell you what. Anyone who objects can turn mine off after 5 minutes!!
Mine is only 4 minutes so have a minute on me
