1. Claudio bought a Fender FMT Jazz from me. Quick decision, quick payment and excellent communication throughout. Very easy / pleasant to deal with - would happily do so again and recommend to all BC'ers.

Recent purchase from Will - managed to call / collect in person: excellent host and had a great chat re. all or most things bass - related. Highly recommended.
  11.
That's a really nice version,I have one with of these early ones,if my ibanez knowledge is correct, this is mc900nt (22 frets, pre 80),the later mc924 had 24 frets and the 940 was the fretless version of the 924,I think. Still a really rare finish! Good luck with the sale...
Thanks! That's really useful info. - I will alter the title/description accordingly
  12.
I'm pretty confident that those babies are about to become THE big vintage bass, and that is a splendid example in every possible way. Good luck with the sale David, if it was FL it would have been at Beedster Towers one day after you'd listed it
Thanks Chris - you could well be right. Not seen a fretless version of this model ... they can always be removed, of course, but seems a shame to change from original.

It required a lot of work (as you can see by comparing my ebay listing photos with those below), + both replacement / refurbished parts. I'd still be interested in a more perfect example. The bass I sold on (as described) was a great player /complete once it had been re-built, but nothing more. Leduc U.Bass lined fretless 5-string: lightweight swamp ash body, floating spruce top, 3-piece maple neck, and lined ebony fingerboard. Bass features the "floating" top for which Leduc U.Basses are famous: effectively a hybrid solid-body / acoustic bass; the ash body is hollowed out and the bridge rests on a floating spruce top which is braced like an acoustic. It gives you a DB/eub)tone: very warm and "woody." The LaBella 'Deep Talkin' Bass' nylon tapewound strings (as currently fitted) add to this (and they're ultra smooth to play / very low tension). The mini headstock (truss-rod/s beneath) /clamps are designed to work with regular strings... so no need for double-ball strings. 34” scale; 1 & 7/8” nut; 10/18mm string spacing (nut/bridge); 7 & 3/4 lbs

  20.
At first glance I thought the first pic was a cake. That is pretty nice, man. How does it play etc?
Thanks Tt - exceptional instrument for that DB/eub tone in an electric bass guitar. Christophe Leduc still produces the U.Bass (which has changed slightly in design over the years), so it will be featured on his website. It would be my #1 FL bass, if I didn't have this one :-

Looks lovely Pete, and know from experience the quality of JS' instruments. Could you add some photo(s) inside the control cavity and specify what was 'duff'/changed - has the bass been altered from the original EQ / pots. etc? (or was it JS who performed the rescue work?) Cheers.
