Wonder why this didn't sell? Little man.
eubassix replied to Jwlkr1991's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Nice photo of St. Andrews Church, central Singapore (with The Westin Stamford Hotel behind, plus Suntec City, Japanese War memorial and SRC - Singapore Recreation Club) ! I once got the International School minibus locked inside the church grounds as I got back there too late (free parking at that time - hard to find in the city) so had to get up really early and take the MRT into the city to rescue it (and myself). -

Update/warning: I finally decide to return this bass as there was just too much to sort (expensive) and the seller wasn't willing to admit or help. It could well appear again, so here are some photos of what it looks like now (or when I originally received it). The Schaller bridge is knackered (requires at least 2 new saddles plus others anchor bolts/washers). The electronics work OK but are not original plus (neither are the pickups) one knob doesn't work (in addition to the extra 'hole'). Neck seems OK but needs tidying around headstock & truss rod. Body needs refinish and is slightly warped also :-
Looks nice ... but what's happened re. the knobs? They don't seem to be equally spaced (?) unless it's an illusion of the photography. Who fitted the East sytem and is the original Marleaux (either A-P or Programmable circuit with Vol, Pan + 3EQ?) still with the bass?

Hello, The previous what amount a Luthier there was enough space and put a button close to each other but nothing clutters the original preamp also have it, greetings
OK - looks like an additional pot has been added (Vol?) above the original 4 (so the original Vol knob is now stacked and looks to be very close to the added pot/knob). The top (and MHS) is spalted birch. What is the original circuit / controls?
Can't say I've seen one of those at all!
You can see further here John, although there are several (obviously)-non-Tung basses included in the photos :- https://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A9mSs3UF0whXsDYAjsRLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTByZmVxM3N0BGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?p=Tung+Bass&fr=ytff1-tyc-sc I tried several times for one whilst in Singapore, but they were virtually impossible to get direct or S/H (from the USA). There was talk of Nicholas Tung getting back into building again (c.2008), but it seems he took a lot of deposits and then 'disappeared'... unfortunately (c. 2010/11)
You could make the switch into an on/off and have the stack taken out and made into separate controls. That would use all the controls then??? Long as your happy with the sound.
Yes, that's the sort of thing I'bd been thinking (although lacking the ideas/skills required). Cavity / electronics photos below. I'd like to try something more original / 'better (possibly Bartolini - the p/ups are the same dimensions) .. but as it sounds OK/good as-is, I don't want to spend a lot of time/££ only to realise it's no better. Might just keep a watch for used components. :-
