1.
Rear pup/front pup/both pups with a pick.
Slight hijack: when people speak of front and rear pickups, which is which? I'd refer to them as bridge and neck - or vice versa, I don't know! (On my basses with two pickups, both pickups are on the front - the side with the strings!)
 2. Argents indeed... I don't remember it stocking basses, it was keyboards/tech gear when I were a lad. Then the Zwemmer sheet music shop that used be on a road further down off Charing Cross Road moved into Denmark Street under the Argent's name, and now it's become/been replaced by Music Room, which is or used to be part of the Rose Morris cluster of shops! Hence I can see the Music Room/Argent's thing. We need a Pete Frame "Rock Family Trees"-type thing to unravel the history of the street!
 3. My Squier CV P is in the "nice bass but I don't need it" corner...
 4.
It would be fantastic if they released a non-plate Jazz, with an option of the control plate, in some awesome colours, and not charge custom prices.
G&L JB-2 Sorted.
 5.
I think I've heard of his half brother - Brijova DaRiva Kwai...
Love Doesn't Ass Kwai...
 6. That's around the price of a s/h Squier VM (or maybe CV), so it could be a good price even if it's not what it says it is...
 7. This thread is worthless without [s]pictures[/s] audio :-) Which Jamiroquai tracks?
 8.
Oh my goodness, that top horn is absolutely revolting.
Fancy one in fleshtone/purpleburst?
 9. I'm a sucker for an unmarked fingerboard. Might have to trade in my RV4
 10.
Are you magic?
Yes. And it was on Twitter https://twitter.com/Bass_Badger/
 11. Sneak peek at the new Retrovibe... vaguely reminiscent of something I've seen before, but not too much ;-)
 12.
But did it 'deserve to be called Mr' ?
It's a mister-y!
 13.
I'd have that like a shot if it weren't for the usual reason.
You wouldn't know how to tell the other half you'd bought another bass?
 14.
Identical to a 76P I had for many years... if it's original it's worth £1800 - £2000 at the very most.
Yep, it's the twin of my 77/8 - or one of triplets with discreet's! As 12,500 is just a "tad" overpriced, I'll entertain offers IRO £12250 for mine
 15.
Nothing worse than a saggy draggy feel
Been down that alley by the night club again?
 16. Well what do you expect from a passive bass?
 17.
Good jazz: 90% of everything recorded between 1956 and 1978 Bad jazz: 90% of everything recorded from 1979 to 2013
Nah, the really good stuff was never recorded... you had to be there when Miles played his set at the blah blah blah
 18.
Would I buy Morrisey's book? Not while toilet paper is still available.
I guess unlike the pages of the book, the toilet paper doesn't have sh*t on it.... Yet!
 19.
Don't get me started on opera. The birds are fat, you can't understand what they're singing and they never get their tits out.
You've clearly been going to the wrong opera productions!
 20. Late 70s here, unmodded, with Chromes - everything from clangy at the top to heavy-reggae thud at the bottom. Similar with my Squier CV. Definitely time to see what's going on under the bonnet.
 21.
LYL - " How's your Fender?"
Could she BE more forward?
 22.
And some Parliament to really put the cat among the pigeons...
Good job it's a garden centre and not a pet shop.
 23.
Not too surprised at that. Probably just wanted to play "I don't want a lover" or "Say what you want" ;-)
I prefer the early stuff - before they were taken over by Homebase.
