3. Fancy a trade on the Ibanez for http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22359 ?
4. Sorry, thought i would point it out, on the picture of the back of the neck and headstock, you can just make out the ding, its only just in picture. Think of it as a bass related version of where's wally.
5. Okay; A belated picture bump. I'm looking for a trade now; preferably a MM copy or a Mexican Fender, P or J. That said, im open to offers on all basses. Fingermarks included on this bad boy! Parker.
6. Absolutely awesome basses, have a bump on me. You can't get more for your money!
7. Very much into Bowie at the moment, i'm addicted to China Girl. Great song, wonderful bassline and great hooks. Great music. Heroes also has 157 plays in my itunes! Jesus christ!
8. I've played an Eclipse with a wooden neck. And bloody marvelous it was too!
9. I only ever set foot into Aroundabout Sound in cheltenham, as it is run by two of the nicest people ever. They let me play for hours and i buy a pick, strings, leads, etc. Top people, good range of basses. Talk for hours with the male owner, plays either a Goodfellow or a Jazz from the first month of production (the most mojo'd bass i have laid my eyes on) into an EBS stack. He knows what he's talking about, and just gives plain honest advice to you about every single bass. Even gives you some tips as your playing!
10. We'll live and die in these towns - The Enemy. Top tune by a top weller/killers influenced band!
11. Tales from the Riverbank - The Jam.
12. I pay £20 a lesson with my Tutor, Steve Dunn. He's great, i've learnt so much in how to construct lines etc. Paul Cooke off these forums has the same Tutor so he can vouch for him. I think its very reasonable for £20 an hour, so £35 seems steep.
13. G ----------------- D -----------4-6-7 A ----4-5-7------- E 5-7------------- This is A maj bar any silly mistakes by me. The 5th is the fifth note in the scale, so its an E in this case, the 7th fret on the A string. The 7th is the 7th note in the scale, so its a G# in this case, the 6th fret on the A string. 5ths go down aswell, so an octave below the other 5th. This would be the open E string. Does that help? I've only just started theory myself!
14. Mixolydian scales are genius for funk! I find, when not slapping, using this scale just works amazingly. The notes are in places that you can do good fast runs and mix it up nicely. Don't you like pretty heavy music sarah? Try diminished scales. I think these are the ones with the flat 5ths? Am i right? Just think of the opening riff to black sabbath by black sabbath. Thats the root, octave, then the flat 5th. It sound bloody terrifying.
15.
Well! All those artists have quite a clean punchy sound. So i would perhaps suggest Gallien-Krueger or SWR. Both i Believe will come in a above your budget though. If you could get hold of it i think THIS would be fantastic!
Good call.
16. Bass is the best (and guitar) for scales as they are the same on the fretboard wherever you play them (as long as you stay in standard tuning, naturally). I use; Blues Major Minor Diminished Sus
17. 'Snakes and Ladders' by The Negs. You won't know it because my guitarist wrote it!
18.
A cool customer indeed
I hope that was about me Ped!
19. This picture is me about two years ago trying to look oh so handsome and dreamy. It didn't work, evidently. This picture is me at a new years party, after about 12 tins of Guinness. This picture is me with a couple of very good mates. I'm the one in the middle if you hadn't gathered. This was after a lot of special brew. Oh youth.
20. I'm so glad i've never played one so i don't know what the fuss is about!
21. I must have this bass. These Vintage musicman copies are brilliant for the money, head and shoulders over Squire and SX and other companies in the price bracket. I'm going to see if i can get the money together and i will send you a PM in the next few days.
22. Used to belong to Ste on these forums. Looks a lovely face especially the grain. Are you interested in any trades?
23. Its maple. Trust me, its heavy.
