1. It's the copy! Sorry for any confusion. Like hell would i fiddle with a pre-EB musicman... Derren, what do you think of the preamp and pup?
2.
"Bueller?... Bueller?..." By the look of your avatar you may be a bit young for that one! ATKs are great basses - kill stingrays every time for me. If I didn't have my Bongo I'd have a 300 today. To answer your question I think it could possibly be rosewood fretboards (310) instead of maple (300). Not much other than that. Maybe the 310 goes up to 11 or something...
Ferris Bueller's Day Off! One hell of a film And yeah i think it may well just be the fingerboards and finishes. I think i prefer the maple. Cheers!
3. Shame to see you sell this beedster, but someone is going to get an incredible bass out of this. Best of luck!
4.
Have you ever heard Fall Out Boy live? I quite like the band(well.....they did two good albums anyway),but when I saw them there were a number of very dodgy notes courtesy of Pete Wentz. There were times when he'd pose and hit an open string that was just all kinds wrong.
I heard he was unplugged sometimes live ala Richie James Edwards in the manics.
5.
The original bass player from Oasis!
Guigsy? Yeah he was pretty damn poor.
6. Cheers Lozz. If anyone has any questions about this bass I am more then happy to do my best to answer them.
7.
I have an East J-Retro in my 62 Jazz fretless... it really is a bass monster, superb, rich lows.... almost sub bass. I'd recommend to any JB player...
Bh2, That thing has literally made me weep. One of the best looking basses i've ever seen. Must have cost you an arm and a leg!
8. Stingray copy, the bridge is buggered.
9.
Your 50's classic will have the extra wide nut at 45mm for a guess. This is only 2mm more than the average Jazz. Were you thinking of a trade?
Perhaps - i played an Ibanez ATK today however and i'm a little bit in love. The neck is slightly thinner on that, more precisiony as we would think of it. I think i'm going to go for one but best of luck with the sale and thanks for the info OTPJ
10. I played the 310 today and it was lovely. Came online and had a look at it, had a look at the 300 and the only difference appears to be the finishes. Is that really it?
11. If you want it, why don't you buy it
12. Shockwave i owe you a pint! I couldn't find the for sale thread. Also, the width at the nut is 44.5mm. Hope that helps!
13. Don't mean to hijack this thread - but will a Badass III fit a stingray?
14. By crap bass, i mean ultra playable with shoddy hardware. I've got a vintage stingray and i love how it plays - i'm looking to make it sound as good as it feels. I'm currently looking at a John East 4 knob 3EQ and perhaps pairing it up with a Wizard MM pup as i've heard great things about them. Do you think this is the best combo for the money? Also, i'd want to replace the bridge - what do you guy reccomend? Cheers, Parker
15. Hey guys, This is my lovely Fender Precision which i'm putting up for sale. She's lovely, a real read turner to look at as it's not a common bass you'll see on the gigging circuit. I'm selling her because the neck is just too thick for my hands - which is a good note to potential buyers too - it's not a standard precision neck from what i understand, it is chunkier more akin to that of the original P basses, but i'm sure someone could tell you more about that. Tone wise, it's what you see is what you get. It's got all that classic P growl when you whack the tone up and go for it. It can be sharp or warm and responds to various EQs well. I liked it with a 'Smiley face' EQ as it gives a real balls and cut through a mix. I'd be keeping her but it's really effecting how I play because of the neck and my tiny toddler like hands! I'm looking for a sale as i want to tart up my old vintage stingray and turn that into a monster. Though, i would entertain some trade ideas if you've got anything? Here is a picture of the bass - this is one i found on google. It is identical to mine. This bass was owned by Tom1946 before me and Shockwave i believe before that and they can vouch for it's quality, i believe shockwave has an excellent selection of pictures of the bass and i shall try to find the original for sale thread and get those to you as i've lost my camera cable. £380 collected, £400 posted. PRICE DROP: £350 collected 370 Posted Thanks for looking guys.
16. Cheers OTPJ! I'm not getting on with my 50's classic precision so i'll measure the neck on that as i know them to be chunky and have a thick
17. Buy in confidence with Tom! Best of luck with the sale mate. Also, you go through basses like nobodys business i swear!
18. You sir, have a PM
