Indeed, i got two for christmas, the hardback one is signed by dickie himself. My grandad played cricket for essex through the late 60's and into the 70's and has many connections in the cricketing world - he was a good friend of Shep's.
I've been playing around with it for the last half an hour or so and i think it is infact the lack of headroom when i crank my Superfly distorting it and giving it a bit of hum.

Peavey 2x10 4 ohm: 100 (someone changed the speakers to make it 4 ohms.
500 watts of reasonableness for nominal sums of money!

I love the tones i get out of my stingray copy and i also love how it plays. However, it can be a bit noisy, even at low volumes. What can i do to rectify it? Upgrade the preamp and shielding?
