1. Col is a great guy! Traded basses with him and he was excellent. Quick and accurate communication, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. A true gentleman. Cheers Eddie
2. Hey Johnny! I would say that a classic rock tone is what the Traynor does best. It does what you expect of a valve amp in a rock band situation. Loud, fat and clear tone. I have two Orange OBC 115 cabinets and even without 10" speakers or tweeters it cuts through any band mix like a knife. I don't know how they manage to sell it for such a low price, but my guess is that they're trying to get better known in Europe and once they feel the market is ready they'll raise the prices according to the competition. I would offer you to come and try mine mate, but I don't think you'll have a proper picture with the kind of volume I'm aloud in my flat... If you're in London, maybe you could come to one of my gigs? Cheers Eddie
3. Top tip here: Have you heard about Traynor? I bought their 300 watt valve head (YBA300) about 3 months ago and I couldn't be happier with it. I used an SVT-CL from the late 90's (still US made) for a long time and it was a great amp. When I sold it (because I didn't have a roadie to carry it for me anymore...) I started to use a power amp + sansamp kinda thing. Great sound, but I always felt that there was a little something missing there, even if just psychologically. I was considering getting another valve head and had given up on getting myself a new Ampeg after hearing so many terrible stories about their latest, Asia made stuff, when I bumped into Traynor. To make it short, I bought it, I'm playing with it and it rocks! Made in Canada, as loud as the SVT, much lighter and, in to my ears, more versatile. Every time I take it to a gig the other band members are really impressed with it. It really is a bad ass amp! And to make it even better: Thomann sells them for £757,33. Comapring to the SVT is half the price, half the weight, more sounds available to you and definitely much better built. No brainer! You should really check them out. http://www.traynoram...5&cat=40&id=435 http://www.thomann.d...ynor_yba300.htm I'm not a Traynor endorsee, by the way... (I wish!). The only association I have with them is that of a, now, loyal costumer (at least until they start making crap gear in Vietnam, or wherever). Cheers Eddie
4. I traded pedals with Mike and he was cool enough to wait for me to get back from a trip to do it. Top guy!
5. Ok! If nobody grabs it today it goes on Ebay tomorrow morning. Great Made in England Orange cabinet for almost half the street price! Shamon!
6. If I'm not wrong, the LG1000 output is 500 watts into 8ohms, isn't it? I reckon it would very loud + you still have room for another 8 ohms cabinet in the future (evil laugh...).
7.
shame its 8ohm not 4!
What amp are you planning to use with it? I used it with both the Orange Terror Bass and the Traynor YBA300 heads and it's plenty loud. I played with a loud rock covers band with the Terror Bass + SP410 (turned on it's side) with the gain on 3 and the volume on 5 and it was a walk in the park. Very loud cabinet indeed.
8. Frank bought a pedal from me and the transaction couldn't have been smoother. Easy communication and fast payment. Great guy!
9. Bought a cabinet from Nige and everything went smoothly. Cool guy and fellow Orange lover! The cabinets look awesome together man! Thanks Eddie
10. Hey guys! I'm putting up for sale here my Orange SP410 (the one on the top in the picture). . I'm sure you know all about it, but here's a link to Orange's website with all the details: http://www.orangeamp...peaker-cabinet/ Here's a link for a nice demo of the Orange SP range: The cabinet is almost new and it has been used very little (I think four gigs). Apart from some tiny scratches on the handle covers, where they are screwed into to the upper part of the cabinet, it's in brand new condition. These little scratches were made when I was trying to place my Traynor head on top of it for the first time. This baby sounds amazing and it works perfectly as a stand alone or in combination with another cabinet. Think of it as the most powerful and deeper sounding 2x10 you ever had. It handles 1200 watts into 8 ohms. It comes with a Roqsolid cover which has been the home of this cabinet from day one. I'm asking for £400 collected from South London (SW9). If you're willing to arrange for a courier to come and collect it, Im fine with it. I don't have the original box anymore, but I can pack it nicely to be delivered to you safe and sound. Good opportunity to grab a great, brand new cabinet (it even smells like new) for a good price! Since I'm selling it only because I need some cash, I'm afraid I won't be accepting any trades. Cheers Eddie
11. Hi guys! I'm selling here this awesome envelope filter pedal: 3 Leaf Audio Proton envelope filter (£125 posted in the UK): Really, really good envelope filter. In the original box with all the papers. It's gonna be difficult to say goodbye, but I don't really use it that much and could really use some cash injection right now as I need a new motor. Bought around 2 months ago from Bass Direct with very little use. Condition is as new Here's a cool demo: The pedal have velcro on the bottom, but the rubber feet are in the box so you can easily put them back if so desired. Cheers Eddie
12. I traded pedals with Jerry and everything went absolutely smooth. The pedal arrive nicely packed and looking great. Cheers for that dude!
13. Bought a pedal from Mike. It arrived in the original box with all the paperwork, nicely packed and looking brand new. Highly recommended! Cheers
14. Great experience with Roqsolid here too. I ordered a cover for my Traynor YBA300 and, even though they didn't have a cover for this specific model on their website, I was able to use their custom measure system and the cover arrived two days later. Fits perfectly!
15. Mate, I have a tip for you. If you're into the Avalon U5 kinda vibe, you should give the Focusrite Platinum Trakmaster Pro a try. Class A solid state preamp, like the U5, a very basic but quite effective eq, plus one of the best compressors out there. They have recently been discontinued, but you can find them often on ebay for cheap. Like this one for example. I have the dual channel version of this baby, the TwinTrak Pro, and I couldn't recommend it more. Great piece of gear! Cheers
