1. Bought some George L's plugs from Shep. Quick and easy communication, fast posting... Top marks. Cheers
2. Bought a Badass II bridge from Gary. Quickest posting ever and very helpful when requested. Great guy to deal with it. Cheers
3. I didn't realise you could find these for cheaper than I paid last year, even though apparently you can only get them form the States and that, sometimes, can take ages and be a bit risky. So here's bump with a price reduction! Cheers
4. Thanks Greek! Unfortunately this band no longer exists. And it wasn't my fault. Meanwhile... The lovely P is still here.
5.
Thanks guys, for all your help Does anyone know if anywhere in the UK has any stock?
http://www.stringbusters.com/Ko-Bespoke/productlist.asp?cat=1/BASS%20STRINGS/BASS%20STRINGS%20LA%20BELLA
6. Hey guys! Here I have for sale my Avalon U5 preamp/DI. In 'as new condition', only used twice in my home studio and then back into the original box, in which I will send it to the future happy owner. I really don't use it anymore since I have a couple of very good studio preamps with inbuilt eq and compression. I bought it last year and this baby is not even a year old yet. Now £315 posted in the UK, or £300 collected from SW9. Opportunity to grab a brand new, awesome preamp for second hand price! Can't upload pictures, but it really is flawless. Exactly like a brand new one from the shop. I can email some pics though. All the best, Eddie
7. I can't believe it... Such bad timing. At least you got yours man. Cheers
8. Hi guys! For sale here is a mint condition, never gigged, in the original box, Catalinbread SFT. It's the blue one, with the silver knobs. I put some small velcro strips underneath planning to use it in my live setup, but never got round to do it. I will include the original rubber feet as well. We all know here what they are and what they do, right? Here's a couple of links for those of you who maybe don't: Also excellent for guitar. Check the other videos on Catalinbread's youtube channel. The reason I'm want to sell it is that I need some cash and I got a VT Bass Deluxe and that has pretty much all my overdrive needs covered, with the facility of programming. £115 posted in the UK, or £110 collected form Stockwell (this option comes a with a nice cup of coffee). Cheers Eddie
9. I use a Babicz in one of my basses and never had problem palm muting when using a plectrum. Much more comfortable than resting your hand on the standard Fender bridge.
10.
Been using Roto Rounds for years, and really want to like flats, but with so many about, difficult to make a choice. I did try Roto Flats, but couldn`t get on with them. As yet, not tried flats in a band context, which I suppose is the main thing, as I`ve found over the years that if I dislike a bass sound on it`s own, I tend to really like it in the mix, and that`s what counts.
Hey Lozz. After many years playing only with rounds (Rotosounds and LaBellas) my greatest discovery in recent years were the Status Half-Wound strings. I've been using them on P-Basses for a while now. They feel just like flats at the tip of your fingers and, sonically, somewhere in the middle, between rounds and flats. But it's a nice in the middle, not some over the fence, half baked in the middle, if you know what I mean. With the tone control slightly attenuated and playing a bit closer to the neck you can make them sound just like flats. I cut a little piece of acoustic foam so it fits perfectly under the strings, close to the bridge, and now that elusive Jamerson sound is right there. At the same time, with the tone control full on and with a plectrum, you still get that lovely P-Bass bite, but (in my opinion) in a much nicer way. You don't loose definition and attack, you just loose harshness. I highly recommend for you guys to give them a try. You can buy them directly from Status, they're no expensive and they always deliver mine the next day. They only make them in more regular gauges though (40-100 and 45-105). Still worth a try. They do feel stiffer than rounds, so maybe with heavier gauges it would be a bit too much for most? Ah... And I feel it's way easier to play with them than with rounds.

13. Hey! If anybody wants to see this baby in action tonight, I'll be playing at the Queen of Hoxton from 19:30. Cheers
14. I think only the American Deluxe series had/has them fitted. I bought an American Deluxe P- Bass in 2001 that came with the Schaller strap locks.
15. It is a beauty of a finish indeed. The mobile pictures definitely don't do it justice. I think it looks pretty sweet with the black scratch plate as well. It took me a while to find it when I was shopping for it. I could find P-Basses in any colour but this one. Anyway... Still here! Cheers
16. Ok guys, A lot of views, but no PM... I guess the price I was asking wasn't right then. I feel £700 is a fair price to pay for this bass comparing to other Precisions sold here. Great playing and superb sounding P-Bass! You get the DiMarzios for free and if you don't want to keep them you can try to sell them in here. Cheers Eddie
17. Hey guys! For sale here is my USA made Fender Precision 2007. It's the American Standard model (SN Z7069828) in Candy Cola Red, maple fretboard and a black scratch plate. The scratch plate is a Fender original part, but not the one that came with the bass. The original one (cream) is also included (see pictures). I upgraded the pickups for the DiMarzio Model P (DP122). These are the pickups on the bass at the moment. The original Fender pickups are also included and nicely packed inside the DiMarzio case. The S-1 switching system, that enables you to switch the pickup wiring from series to parallel, has been disabled (since I never used it). The switch is still there though, so if you want you can have it wired again so it works with either the DiMarzios or the Fender pickups. Your choice. The bass comes in the original Fender hard case, with all the little papers, tags and the truss rod screw. I used this bass a lot, both live and in the studio, since I bought it from the Bass Gallery in December 2007. There are some tiny superficial marks at the back, I don't think they even qualify as buckle rash, nothing that goes through the finish (I couldn't properly show it in the pictures), a couple of dings on the headstock (only normal on a used bass, see picture) and three very minor dents at the back (see picture). This bass plays great! Great neck with a comfortable low action and with a really nice pattern on the maple. I also love what the DiMarzios did for the sound of the bass. It really does preserve the Precision's character, only adding some more punch and depth (the lows are unbelievable). The reason I'm selling it is that I just acquired through this very website my dream 70's P-Bass and I can't really afford to have two Precisions, specially because I'm putting money together to get a new car asap. I have a friend who's dying to buy the bass, but he won't have the money before December, so here it is. Here's the deal: £650 collected from SW9. £680 posted anywhere in the UK. Alternatively, I can travel up to 100 miles to deliver the bass for petrol money. FINAL REDUCTION! If nobody takes this lovely P 'till the end of the week I'm gonna save it for my mate in December, or keep it and maybe put an extra Jazz pick up to have a more versatile alternative bass. Anybody willing to come and try it is more than welcome. Check the pictures and also the links for the video and sounds. Cheers Eddie http://www.starnow.c...ing+The+Michael http://www.starnow.c...dia/75648-Swell http://www.starnow.c...5650-In+My+Room PS Very important! The kitten is not included!
18. These are the speakers in my Orange OBC115 cabs. Very punchy but still retaining all that bass juiciness. I really love these cabinets. I'm sure the speakers play a big role in the way they perform.
19. Hi Johnny, The next open gig where I'm gonna be using the Traynor will be this coming Saturday, at the glorious O'neill's, in Richmond. Also I'm gonna be using my new (old) 1977 P-Bass with it for the first time. It should be fun! D' you know what... I've been offered a Berg NV610 this week. I'm very curious to hear how they sound together. I bet lovely! Ah... Temptation! Anyway... Come down for a pint! Cheers Eddie
