Bet you're glad to be bacck at it and that is one nice rig you have there. What's the bass ? Dave
-
didn't know you were tackling guitar charts too Rob. Not that i play guitar but it impresses me even more how you can do all this work and i know you generally make light of it but if it was that easy why are we not all doing it, including me ? Dave
-
Yep def one of my bass heroes along with Neil Murray, Jack Bruce and of course Jeff Berlin. Also loved his tone on A Live Record. Dave

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?

Altho i saw them with Bernie Torme and John McCoy i cant say i was a big fan of them. Dave -
I meant Breathless. Cheers Mickey, now updated on original post. No idea where i got Pointless from. ? Bit of a Doh !!! moment there. 😂 Richard Sinclair was an incredible bassist / vocalist with some amazing techniques. I personally love "A Live Record" where you get to hear his playing. My fav album by Camel is actually "I Can See Your House from Here" which is the only tour i've seen them. Liked the "Nod and a Wink" album too but i think that was a bit of a tribute to Pete Bardens. Oddly enough we didn't do any Gillan songs altho we did talk about Ted the Mechanic. Dave -
Hi Rob just listening to Camel Breathless album and there's a nice catchy wee riff on The Sleeper if looking for ideas. Dave

I was jesting of course. Nowhere in Scotland can hide from the rain. To be honest i don't really mind the rain. Not been in Pitlochry for many years now. I generally stop at the outdoor adventure centre cafe in Ballinluig on my way North. Its approx half way to Loch Ness for me. Dave
-
Never rains in Pitlochry. Its the centre of the known universe. Gorgeous area, one of my fav areas to drive thru. I no longer stop at Pitlochry these days as its always too busy. Maybe i should visit in winter months. Dave
-
Rain here so at least its cooling down a bit. Hope the cold isn't too bad for you during the gig. Nothing worse. Dave

I'm actually glad i'm not playing this weekend with all my Glam gear on it would be very warm. Today i will be mainly loafing. Dave

Makes you work for your money on the night. 😂 I used to play in a "Friends of DP" tribute and we covered any band that was directly linked to DP which allowed us Rainbow, Whitesnake, DP and even Sabbath thru Dio. Loved playing Stargazer, that was one of my all time favs. So much energy and emotion in that song for a bassist. IMO of course. Dave -

Some cracking songs in there. Kansas, DP, Rainbow and Whitesnake being my favoured ones. Dave -

I had that with my plucking fingers at last gig on just one song that i've been playing for past 6yrs (Ballroom Blitz mid section where bass ties in with drums) I ended up having to ad-lib it as best i could. Its not even a fast or hard part. I just couldn't get it right in my head. Old age doesn't come itself @Lozz196. That's my excuse anyways. 😂 Dave -
What a coincidence. Nice one. Hopefully we'll get some gig pics of each others band from you both. 😂 Dave

I was asked to go to that rally once few yrs back. As a biker rather than a musician of course. I had other plans that weekend and didn't go. Dave
-
I'm guessing it was to hide face wrinkles of course Daryl. (i saw that on "Everybody loves Raymond" show - not experience i have to say. 😂) Dave

I had one of those prescribed nasal sprays and ended up with severe uncontrollable nose bleeds and now won't use them. Bleeding was a constant stream rather than a drip and lasted up to 45mins at one point. Not a very nice condition. I know you can get a jab for it but not sure how good they are. Dave
-
Not so good. I only occasionally suffer from hay fever but i'm on daily anti-histamines for past 20yrs or so. Hopefully it'll be ok and you can enjoy the gig. Did get a tip from a guy that suffered badly was to rub some vaseline on inside of your nose to trap pollen. Not tried it but he swore by it. Dave
-
Take a large 18" cooling fan and position near you. I use one every gig with Glam band and it does keep you cooler. Dave
-
Nice one Daryl, this is more how it should be for you guys. Should be a fantastic experience. Keep us posted on how it goes. Dave

Not posted on here for a wee while now but i've been using my WB-100 for best part of this year so far and i'm loving the tone with my Sandberg VM4 thru both my Mesa SW210/115 rig and now with the Barefaced 212 cab i bought few mths back. It was originally bought as a stop gap until i managed to get my Mesa TT800 amp but tried the WB-100 again early this year and realised i just love a full valve amp. One of the reasons i stopped using it was that i was getting a bit more distortion than expected and found the overall volume was limited because of it. What i found was that it was my pick up height that was the issue on the VM4. I dropped it a touch and the level of distortion appears to have almost gone completely except when really digging in. This allowed me to get the WB-100 gain up at a bit more and the overall volume is now more than adequate even for larger 200 seat capacity venues with no PA support. At the moment with the BF 212 my settings are :- Gain @ 11-1 depending on how i feel on the night. Bass @ 11 Mid @ 2-3 Treble @ 11-1 Master @ 11 - 1 Dave

Do the Aguilar pick ups make a difference. ? Nice wee family going on there. I'd quite like another VM4 just for a change of colour. Dave

Superb bass pose start of 2nd song. Looks like a great night. Dave
