  1. Take this job and shove it - Johnny Paycheck
  2. Looks bang on to me. Here's a pic of the bridge on my Pro for comparison -
  3. 3 hours can be a short Bruce gig! Seen him a few times and was amazed how quickly it went TBH, but if it's not your thing then of course I can understand why. Same for me if faced with 2 hours of a Yes concert.....😴
  4. Great choice, I'm sure you'll love it! Enjoy.
  5. Give peace a chance - Plastic Ono Band
  6. You know my name ( look up the number ) - Beatles
  7. Blimey - makes The Ramones stuff seem like a prog rock epic by comparison....
  8. Probably don’t need to post this on here, but don’t ever consider going to a Springsteen gig either......🤣
  9. Rikki don’t lose that number - Steely Dan
  10. Is it me or does anyone else think this thread is not far from it’s inevitable demise? 😅
  11. I have a Pro, and yes it does have the all metal adjustable bridge. Less vintage correct but more sturdy and adjustable 😊
  12. Upside down - Diana Ross
  13. Another +1 for the Fender Rumble. I have the 100 and it’s incredibly light and easy to transport, as well as sounding great too. They have a DI for when you want to use it with a PA, and are loud enough for your needs as well as being well within your budget. Rimmers Music have them in stock currently at £269, which is a great price for such a good combo. S/h ones seem to go for £180 ish if you want to save more money.
  14. Up up and away - Fifth Dimension
  15. Police car - Larry Wallis
  16. Fire brigade - The Move
  17. Saw The Ramones c1977 at Hull University. All songs were 3 mins maximum, no gaps in between them (or any audience interaction unsurprisingly) and after maybe 10 or 12 of them they were gone. If they did 40mins I’d have been amazed, but TBH that was more than enough for me. Fortunately I’d blagged tickets from the record company so didn’t feel shortchanged.
  18. Let’s groove tonight - EW&F
  19. Elvis Costello - My aim is true. Only around 28 mins I believe, but blew me away when I first heard it in 1977. Still sounds fantastic today too. Maybe worked so well because there was absolutely no filler?
  20. For me Bruce Springsteen has come up with some wonderful stuff - love this from 'The River'. But I remember us riding in my brother's car Her body tan and wet down at the reservoir At night on them banks I'd lie awake And pull her close just to feel each breath she'd take Now those memories come back to haunt me They haunt me like a curse Is a dream a lie if it don't come true Or is it something worse That sends me down to the river
  21. Working in a coal mine - Lee Dorsey
  22. New York New York - Frank Sinatra
  23. Can you feel the force - The Real Thing
  24. If you’re considering a Hohner B2 series bass, check out whether you can cope with it standing up using a strap. The inherent design of them makes the way it balances very odd ( for me anyway). The bass hangs in a position that makes the neck too far away and a stretch for the lower frets. I used to often miss notes by a fret or two, and found it so awkward that I ended up selling mine which was a shame as I loved everything else about it. Someone designed a strap button ‘extender’ that solved this on the original Steinberger models but I couldn’t find one when I had my Hohner - would have kept it if I had.
  25. In the Navy - Village People
