  1. Afraid I’m with you on this as well. SC is obviously a technically gifted drummer, and also seems like a great bloke too after watching him on the recent drum documentary on the Beeb. But his playing just annoys the sh*t out of me! Never lets up or grooves , just filling every gap constantly. I know this is often the case with a 3 piece, but for me he just over eggs it a bit too much and becomes irritating after a while.
  2. For two people too! Or maybe even four.....😀
  3. I honestly thought it was one of these -
  4. There’s a guy in Bognor who has an advert on FB page ‘UK guitars, bass, amps classified’ wanting one of these. Have let him know about your amp, GLWTS!
  5. Latest release from Bruce Springsteen, reunited with The E Street Band. Nothing groundbreaking but I still love it!
  6. Great amps, GLWTS!
  7. Great song, and video! Really like it, congrats on doing a superb job.
  8. Around £900 ?
  9. Although I’m not a massive Neil Young fan, his version of this old song is just sublime. Love Nicolette Larson’s harmony vocal, moves me every time I hear it.
  10. Vintage / retro style in black leather. Slim strap with padded shoulder pad, made by Leathergraft in Liverpool UK. Excellent condition, barely used. Cost new £26.99 https://leathergraft.co.uk/shop/ols/products/the-sheepskin-shoulder-pad-the-shp-shl-pad1/v/THE-VINT-SHL-PAD-BLC £10 ( plus p+p at cost ) Cheers
  11. Trust for PA they'll be using this range of mixers too (with phantom power natch...)
  12. Ah, thanks mate. Not a boat anchor by any means but just a tad too much for my knackered back. GLWTS, all the best, Pete.
  13. Looks like a Precision I think Steve.
  14. Hi Dave. Nice bass, any idea how much it weighs please? Thanks, Pete.
  15. Nah, classic diversionary technique while the guitarist snaffles that antique case....
  16. And Spectre basses?
  17. Beat me to it! Great pedal, especially for the bargain price - absolute no brainier to try out first.
  18. Whilst all the other amps you've mentioned are highly regarded, the Ampeg is no slouch either. There's not a lot of risk buying one for £299 IMO, as if you don't get on with it then you won't lose much when you want to move it on. Which I doubt you'll want to do....😉
  19. Another +1 for the Rumble. The 15 or 25 ones are both ideal for your son. If you get a decent s/h one it will also hold its value when he wants something bigger too. 🙂
  20. I believe that reliability issues with the PF500 were only a problem with early models, and it was sorted by Ampeg fairly quickly. You should be fine with anything made recently.
  21. It's so lacking clarity, no wonder some establishments are thinking it's okay to proceed.
  22. Me too! Singing treble in the church choir until my voice broke did no help in this matter either....
  23. Some pubs around here are starting to put small socially distanced indoor gigs on - are they in breach of the rules?
  24. Yeh I enjoyed it too. Obviously too much material to cover in more detail though which was a bit frustrating at times, but nevertheless very watchable.
  25. I started playing guitar at primary school, as well as having piano lessons from the age of about 7 when my folks realised I had ‘a good ear’ ( just the one ....) Secondary school didn’t help much really, with music lessons mainly to do with singing and also listening to classical stuff. We had a student teacher for a year who started a guitar class which was significant for me, and I still remember his Gibson J40 which he let me play! The only school bands were an orchestra ( which held no interest to me, especially as I’d been bollocked for playing a double bass with my fingers!) and a small brass band. Contrast that now with what goes on - a guy who was in my last band was head of music at a local secondary school, where they have a soul band, rock bands and a jazz ensemble, and also a recording studio set up!
