Ive got one of these combos and find it to be pretty much top notch. If you are having difficulty with poor sound its probably the bass however, make sure you have read the manual and understand the controls as it is far from being a straight forward plug and play unit. You can model pretty much any amp and add some pretty decent effects. Use the USB to link to the Fender Fuse software and youve got infinite choices. A lot of fun once its understood. Enjoy

Badly placed bridges on the Gibson Thunderbird basses...
CPBass replied to bassmayhem's topic in Bass Guitars
Ive had quite a few T birds over the years and loved them. Whilst the abomination of a bridge remains and doesn't appear to changing anytime soon. I simply switched it for the Hipshot Supertone and simply being the operative word, its as easy as changing a string. Not only does it rectify the intonation and tuning issues, it looks great and improves the contact between string and bass. A bit of a faff for a classic design but well worth it when your at full tilt with your foot on the monitor. All hail the most Rock n Roll bass EVER. -
Dingwall moved on. Neeeded a change - if only for the sake of it. I reckon i will own a Z3 some day and that will be tbe crest of the hill for me. Need a second mortgage though. W+T is a sexy beast. Specially the zoid. Good luck with the sale.
If you do find yourself gassing a lovely Zoid 5 string then drop me a line. I'll do an amazing deal for ya ;-)

Epiphone Flying V Bass - help needed from an owner...
CPBass replied to GrahamSmith's topic in Bass Guitars
No thats fine Graham, i would say it was a bargain at the price you got it for. I was just looking for a little upgrading project. It looks like you've solved the problem, a nicely cut piece of sticky backed foam or rubber should solve the eyesore. Cool looking bass i got the Ibanez on my signature for something like £60 and spent a £100 on upgrading. Back in my day (late 80s) it was THE bass to have for the newly emerged Thrash Metal sound. They are now unbelievably rare and it plays superbly. One of the remaining joys of eBay -
Can Anybody Recommend Me A Case For A Large Semi Acoustic Bass?
CPBass replied to bagsieblue's topic in General Discussion
As with everything It depends on your budget. EBS will no doubt have a case that will do the job handsomely and there will be some nice gig bags out there too. Ive got a few spikey basses and they are very much limited to their builder supplied gig bags or custom flight case at extra cost. Did Warwick not supply a gig bag? -
Epiphone Flying V Bass - help needed from an owner...
CPBass replied to GrahamSmith's topic in Bass Guitars
I bid on this too. Id hazzard a guess that Epiphone or some past owner with a router has attached some sort of anti slip strip there for sitting down. How does she play? I bid up to £100 with a view to upgrading and moving on. Cheers Col -

Hey Kev, If you are looking to downsize you best bet is to check out other Ashdown cabs. Soundslive always have a bunch of ex demo cabs on sale and are always pretty much new. As long as the power rating and impedance matches your pretty safe. Hope thats helps Col

Just completed a trade of some exquisite gear with Kev. Totally clear, honest and trustworthy, the trade was swift and easy. I drove to make the deal possible and he contributed his share of the costs without hassle. Would highly recommend any trade with Kev. Col

You'll be fine Kev. Ive used it in the house plenty and it still delivers 'its sound' at lower volumes. You can then open her out if you get a jam session or bigger room. Your going to love it mate. I'm still gutted she's leaving

It does look small. The pointies are serious chunks of wood with weight and size being one of the final design considerations. They play and sound incredible though. The Stryker has more growl with the Buzzard having more finesse if that's possible as they are both bonkers!!!! If only you needed an Ashdown rig Kev…..the Italian Zoid would bring some serious sleekness and look superb in amongst ze Germans
