Distortions
I got rid of my ODB-3 because I'm another who reckons it was too fizzy, but I have to admit I'm mighty tempted by the Double Muff, mainly because of the 'True Bypass' that the ODB didn't have. I've been borrowing a Danelectro Wasabi distortion which is pretty good, and has the db boost, but when it's not in use it really colours the clean sound
i really liked my double muff, sadly it's broken...
  8. whereabouts in north london are you ? i might be interested if i can give it a try.
  9. well, at least you'd never be short of a bottle opener

  17.
A thick, wide suede type leather strap helps. What kind of strap are you using?
a very wide montana leather strap. it doesn't stop the bass rotating away from me...as if it wants to lie face-down on the floor at my feet.
  18. the strap button on my dearmond starfire is currently at the heel of the neck and it makes the bass hang forward....quite uncomfortable to be honest i'd like to move it to the top horn to improve the balance (see attached...) thing is, i'm worried that the wood there is far too thin to support the weight of the bass and the strap button will just pull out and damage the bass. i've though of trying to inject something like polysestger resin into the upper horn using a flexible bit of pipe, but this sems a bit hit and miss.... any ideas ?
  19. thanks for the tips folks.... and the GAS edit: well i had a think, listened to the tunes we're going playing, had a try out....and went for one of these... think it's gonna go down a storm with some overdrive and phasing
  20.
Get Higgie's Monacor way better than any Q-tron I've ever tried
sounds like a great pedal....but a bit too pricey for me at the mo
  21. off up to preston next week to do some recording with the break-beaty/techno outfit, and i'm seriously gas-ing for a better envelope filter than my micro q-tron. i can't afford it, but i keep looking at the q-tron+ somebody talk me out of it...
