1. I actually want a Bongo
2. this one was going for £1299
3. the bridge is covered by a pickup cover!! how can you comment on the bridge if you cant see it!
4. they have a nice little selection of musicmans, from what i remember they had the bongo HH, stingray 2eq, stingray 3eq, stingray 5 H, stingray 4 HH. i tried the 3eq stingray about a month back, the red/black one, and it was sh*te tbh, although it could have been the ashdown amp... i dont remember soundcontrol ever having lots of different types, although they did have a few warwicks and spectors

dude get it off ebay, youl be charged 10% of what it goes for, which is beyond a joke
6. f*** man that sucks, aresehole, i think for someone to ask someone else to hold a bass for that long, some sort of non refundable deposit should have to be made, as situations like this just suck good luck with it man, as iv said its a cracking bass. a 5 string standard FENDER jazz bass has just sold on this forum for £600! and if it was anything like other 5 string fender jazz's iv tried, this bass blows them away, quality, playability and sound. buy it. now.
7. yep, went to Reverb in bristol today and spotted a bongo HH 4 strings hanging on the wall, so i was finally able to try one. after discussing with the prick member of staff as to whether i could try it or not ("its an expensive bass for me to take down unless your gunna buy it...." wtf!) i was able to play it. Well, i was impressed to say the least. iv not played a 4 string in a while, but i adjusted pretty quickly. the feel of the neck and the bass in general was lovely, the neck wasnt at all sticky despite being painted, and the action was pretty much exactly the same as on my stingray. as predicted, the HH model wouldnt be the one i went for, as it completly hindered my slap technique, and it literally wasnt possible for me to slap fast on it. however the flexibility the 2 pickups give is superb, the bass has a great jazz tone with the bridge solo'd, but i mainly kept the balance in the middle. the preamp is probably the best iv ever used, massivly versitile, all kinds of tones were coming out of it, although i admit that my favourite sound was with everything flat. my opinion of the bass has changed quite a lot, and actually i found it not thattttt ugly. the 4 string HH version is not for me, but im now very eager to try out a 5 string H model and see if i still like it as much. ah well, i managed to stay GAS free for a couple of months anyways.....
8. don't, use the attachments feature on here and just upload straight from your pc
9. i think its too early to bargain search yet guys, the bass already has 14 bids with over 4 days left
10. i bloody LOVE this album, i didnt even really like their other stuff, sex on fire is just a superb song
11.
Ive been interested in these for a while...how good are they?
bit of a 'poor mans' deep impact is the impression i get from various reviews and sound bytes, more practical but way larger although never tried one myself. id probably say £150 is its max value, tbh im quite suprised it went for that much in the current climate, last couple iv seen have gone for around £120 iirc EDIT last one on ebay was in the US for £89...
12. everything points towards that being completly legit in my eyes
13. using the moog expression pedal would not have damaged the syb5, i dont know much about what type of pedal it needs, but id suggest either you have the wrong one, or the unit was already possible faulty
14. reckon rob would sell a graphite neck for it if he was asked??? if so, that would make it interesting
15. your fingers or style are worth more than anything you could buy
16. maybe if this was £250, it could be worth looking at, but for £500, no way, its not stock, the only basses to ever come out a factory with a musicman pickup are musicmen, its just a frankenp, and who's to say how good the mod was...
17. i'm about to pull the trigger on a barber LTD special recipe, anyone got any experience with one?
18. his reply: Hey, its a genuine musicman passive humbucking pickup Thanks, Westy619 judge for yourself
19. they are on the xp100, and just as good quality anyone that buys a bass whammy for that kinda money, imo, is a complete fanboy idiot anyone that has one for the £100 or so they are worth, nice one
20. no im sure it could be a perfectly legit bass if that pickup is made by fender, however if the pickup in that bass is made by musicman, it did not come out the factory like that, as ernie ball ONLY distribute their pickups and indeed all their hardware on new Musicman basses.
21. i think it would be better if the auction wasnt a silent one, and that offers should be made in the thread?? it would certainly encourage more offers, and almost certainly will get you a better price
22. iv emailed him asking about it if the reply is 'yes, its a genuine musicman pickup', then we know that this is certainly not a stock bass, and therefore a marker to stay clear.
23. ah, well thats that sorted then! keep a close watch on ebay mate, patience is a virtue
24. blue dawn finished are pretty damn hard to come by, so the US is likely to be your only option there, although the 2007 model, isnt that the one with the horrid 2007 inlay at the 12th fret?? if so, id forget that and try and find an earlier blue dawn finish, they ran the colour in 2000/2001 too (thats the period my blue dawn stingray is from). its an expensive affair though if you want to buy new, at current musicman prices, i dont think id recommend anyone to buy one brand new, they lose 1/4 value at least as soon as it leaves the shop!
25. xp100 does the harmonies that the bass whammy can do if i was gunna get another whammy, id choose the xp
