1.
Hi, is the cab still available?
Hi sorry but I bought the cab!
2. Looks like my kind of project! Mid 60s judging by the raised logo and tuners. I won't be surprised if that makes a few £££.
3.
Hi, beautiful bass, do you know when this was made?
It dates from around 1996
4. The big valves in this and the transformer are worth what I'm asking in spares alone type bump!

Gone

Up for a nice cheap Japanese made jazz.
6. What's it supposed to be? Chainsaw? Axe? Dinosaur? Drunken surrealists notion of a sober shark? Answers on a postcard please......
7. It seems to have been pulled
8. Time for a nudge up!
9. I always use Pickguardian, their service and prices are excellent.
10. I bought Mark's Trace Elliot Status T Bass. Great to deal with and we managed to meet up bang on time. A lovely bass at an excellent price. Cheers Mark!

Sold thanks Jimbo
12. There's an easy way to get this kind of sound - MOOG
13.
It's shame you're not a bit closer so I could try it (for weight) Si
It's interesting, the weight isn't an issue on my back when using a good wide strap, I've certainly owned heavier basses and my Rick 3001 is about the same. Unfortunately the way the weight is distributed and how the bass sits on the strap seems to really irritate a long term nerve injury around my shoulder and collar bone region. If it wasn't for this I'd certainly be able to cope with it and I'm quite small framed. The balance is perfect so I guess it's more of a personal comfort thing, there are slab body basses I can't play because of the way the upper bout digs into my forearm as a result I've owned super light basses that have caused more pain on my wrist and shoulder than the heaviest of 70s Precisions!
14. Nice to see you've gone for the 'proper' Tele headstock shape too. Lucky you that's a pretty cool looking bass!
15. My 1977 Rickenbacker 3001 bass with original case. It's the heaviest bass I own at around 10lbs so it's not my favourite to gig with but it sounds great in the studio.

Gibson Porn

My '74 Gibson Grabber & '64 Vox AC50 stack. The Grabber has been my main bass for years. It's very light and even has the original bridge cover on it. I just had it refretted as the frets had nearly disappeared!
17. Oh go on go on go on! It's cheap, it's a beast, it plays great and sounds superb

19. I had one - Dalek's handbag - the bass was quite nice to play but the electronic gubbins never tracked correctly. Invariably it was left in its rather fetching pink lined case and my Moog was gainfully employed instead! It weighed significantly more than a Triumph Dolomite.
20.
I really really love this bass and being a big fat bloater the weight isn't a problem, any comparisons on the sound?
Well as I said very versatile from smooth jazz tones to more clanky Ricky sounds and everything between. Great variation for a passive. Cheers
21. Bump for a cheap & cheerful practice amp
22.
If could find one just under 10lbs (so the same weight as my Fender 5)....I'd be happy But this does look great, its a bit like the classic Stingrays, I really like all the other T-40 finishes, but there's something about the Natural ones. Si
I reckon the bridge weighs about 1lb alone, you could always put a Fender string through on it
23.
You guys. . . . . There are a lot more heavier basses out there - some 70's Fenders are the same weight. I assume from this post that Jon now has the twin that I was looking at? Progtastic, mate! Ash, had you not thought of keeping it for a while? Cheers.
You are right about the weight I had a 70s Precision and also a Gibson Victory which were both around 13lbs! Sadly I need to shift it on as I can't tolerate any weight above 9lbs standing for any length of time. My Rick 3001 is my heaviest bass but I use that for recording only so I don't need another 'sit down' bass and my Grabber tends to be my bass of choice weighing in at just over 8lbs. It is a superb bass but I can't justify it not being played. Yes the twin went to Jon and it is indeed progtastic however another weighty bass hence the swap - much heavier than the T40 though! Thanks for the link Karl this shows what potential sounds are on board this beast!
