4. I was 49 and getting fuddy within the grey matter. I wanted to learn a instrument and my son played the guitar so I thought I would try the bass. Never looked back. Wished I started 30 years earlier
5.
Anybody mind if we don't discuss art in this thread? I get the analogy, but there was a very long and at times closely argued thread on that subject a while ago. Just a polite request...
Apologies, I didn't see the art thread.
6. If I was to paint my wall white, is it art? If I was to paint a 8'x8' canvas white does it then become art? If a person perceives it to be art then it is. If a person perceives a note to be musical who can argue that it isn't

8. Hi Can you tell me if there is any difference between the ST12t and the S15. I have an ST12t second gereration and love it. Would i be doing myself an injustice by swapping it? Jonathan
9. I think ticket re sale sites should be made illegal and the people who purchase tickets only to sell them on for a proffit should be jailed. Genuine fans have to miss out or pay grossly inflated prices to see live entertainment. Same thing happens in sport.
10. I only have one bass and it's a 5 string. Problem solved. I hope that which ever course you take works for you
11. It's a bit late now but try registering with the venue, they also have pre sales. I have just got my tickets for the O2 London through their own web site. Also register with companies like Ticket Master and Ents24. They will send emails telling you about events and presales
12. Gain for the music industry, loss for the shaving industry

15. "Close to the edge" first album. "Going For the One" first live gig. I wish I had as much skill and ability as Chris had in his little finger. Awesome Bassist R.I.P. Thinking of all who knew and loved him Jono
16. The only growl I get is the gut renching one my wife gives me when I'm supposed to know what I have done wrong this time
17. Hi, Can anyone help me, I am trying to find the measurements relating to setting up my bass. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a web site or if known the measurements for neck relief and string action etc. Thanks in anticipation Jon
18. I play in a covers band and we all have a choice on what music is played, except the drummer who we keep gaged and chained to his seat. We try a song and if it works then we keep it. Seems to work for us
19. A week or so ago I posted about rack tuners and the majority of responses suggested looking for a Korg Pitchblack Pro or DTR2000 which my bass tutor has. Following a bit of research I found that DTR2000 are selling around the £125 mark. I noticed there was on available to bid on so I did and won, today, for less than £60. Assuming it turns up in the excellent condition which it has been advertised as I would consider myself very lucky indeed. A big thank you to the seller
20. Shall he stay or should he go now? Phone a friend or ask the audience? This may attract vicious vindictive replies.
21. Life has a habbit of changing, We grow, priorities change, we move on. Commitment is something we give if we have the time. Good leadership provides a sound platform on which to build. Without change there would be no progress. The more people involved gives us a greater diversity of opinions and thus conflict may ensue. This should be embraced as without conflict there would be fewer dicussions. Basschat is a wonderful site, many poeple give there time to share their experiences and knowledge with the community. They are very much appreciated especially by myself. I do not post as often as some but reading the threads has tought me many things which I would never have thought to ask. Thank you to all of you
22. Hi, Could you please suggest some Rack mount tuners which are worth looking at with the view to purchasing. Below £150, Many thanks Jonathan
23. Hi, Just got in from attending a concert last night and driving home it occurred to me that many bass players use Fender's. Is this bass still, or has been, the Industry Standard or was there ever such a thing. What about Amps and Cabs? Jonathan
