  5. Hi. I have been trying to purchase a book from baseline publishing but have forgotten the password. I have requested (6 times) to reset my password as instructed on website but to no avail. 9. Hi I have noted that some bass players like to play wearing gloves. Why is this? What advantages, if any, are there and if so what are they made from, would fibres catch in the strings. Jono
  10. Adele. If you are not depressed before listening to her you will be afterwards. Also ABBA. Every nerve in my body goes into spasm within the first three notes
  11. Our band at the moment comprises of three 50+ musicians a 30+ musician. I was talking to a 19 year old keyboard player and she said she would love to join us. Age or gender is not always an obstacle. It's how you feel about yourself. We have fun and play music.
  12. 2016 has not been such a good year for well known people. But what about those who encouraged, taught or influenced us. Lets give recognition to anyone who is no longer with us but gave us the encouragement to suceed with our musical or other abilities. Whether they are relatives, friends, teachers or poeple you have seen who have inspired you. lets praise them. Famous or not. Mine was my music teacher at school. Although I didn't take up playing the bass untill i was 49 I always hear her voice in my head encouraging all her pupils, regardless of ability, to listen to, play or just enjoy all types of music. Unfortunatly her name escapes me, but thank you
  13. [sup]I have just changed to flat wound strings on my L2500. Even better then before. Gas for a JB2[/sup]

  15. Blue, I thought you had made it to the top. You're playing Skegness
  16. After speaking to Mark at bass direct I went for the labella 760. I couldn't have imagined the difference between the types of strings. I already feel comfortable with them and cannot see my self returning to round wounds.
  17. The post is intended, mainly, to express what it playing the bass does for the person. If it becomes a chore or not enjoyable how have they changed the way they feel, if at all, which may help others finding themselves in a similar position.
  18. When playing your bass live, in a studio or at home, how does it make you feel. Are you lost in what you are doing or is it something that has now become repetitive, a chore?
  19. Thank you for all you replies. I have read the various threads and made notes. I tried two local shops and neither stocked flat wound strings for 5 string bass.
  20. Hi. I have a G&L2500 and I am playing more finger style than pick. I love playing blues music. I have never tried Flatwound strings. With the abundance of choice out there are there any recommendations as to which ones to try. Thanks Jon
