1.
MMMmmmm, nice! If my 5 string Warwick has an outright sale then I'll be v. interested in this.
Are you interested in a possible trade with money your way? That is a beautiful Warwick and (as you will see in my profile picture) would be a lovely match for my Streamer LX Fretless (which I'm not selling) Actually I'll PM you..I have a couple of questions about your Warwick...

 5.
i should start collecting magazines! Never knew they had such a high resale value. That '92 flea definitely sold??
Well, I wouldnt collect them for resale. most of them cost £3.75 new and I'm selling at £2 each plus postage, So its not about profit but a lot of the articals in there are still relivant and useful...(plus the collectors side of things but I'm not a "collector") I actually think I sold the Premier Issue well under value (I've seen it go on ebay for £12) Anyway..to the point, sorry '92 flea is currently in the post to some else....sorry.
 6.
Aha! Thats a blast from the past! Hi Simeon! This bass belonged to Jon Bamforth and he had three E Basses built (note I'm not a partner in the business any more due to lack of time, just a willing unpaid helper so this is not an advert for E Basses!). Jon still had this bass at that point and wanted the same electronics, hence the upgrade. Jon was very sadly crippled in an horrific motorcycle accident many years ago and this bass is very lightweight as it had to sit on his lap when playing. ATB Nick
That' the one Nick. I spoke to Jon yesterday to confirm I had the exact right details for the bass, he still has his other two E-Basses (one fretted 6, one fretless 6) along with the rest of his collection of Basses (no where near the size of your collection but substantial non the less.) The fact that it was designed with seated playing in mind makes great for playing in the studio or practicing (note the front jack socket-that won't get in the way of legs) and also the light weight is a dream when playing stood up (especially compared to my other bass, a Warwick Stream 6 String broad neck fretless) I can say that Ian Hancock was a great help and did a great job of the electronics...he even did the job of adding the new 2 space battery compartment for me and wired the bass up for 18v to give extra battery life which I find very useful. *Also forgot to mention that it does come with straplocks If anyone has any questions then let me know. Simeon
 7. Ok so I have for sale a truly unique bass. It is a 6 String bass which was made by Alan J. Clay it has a lime body with a gorgeous flamed maple top. It was made in 1996 (as dated by Alan). It was actually a custom mod to a Washburn MB6...but all that remains of the Washburn is the neck. All the electronics were done by Ian Hancock of E-Basses, who I'm sure Nick Smith (doctor_of_the_bass) can tell you about, I believe there is even a video of Nick on the E-Basses Website. I got the bass from my old bass tutor in Peterborough and he tells me that the original Washburn was bought for £500 and with the complete new body and electronics it's worth £800-£1000. I'll be totally honest if has got some scuffs and nicks around the edge to the back of the body but its all superficial and not visible from the front, they're so small they probably aren't even visible in the photo's. It would be a perfect first 6 string or first move into the custom bass world for someone looking for a beautiful and entirely unique one of a kind instrument. Other Spec: 24 Fret, 35" scale. Very Nice 18v active Electronics; Volume, Sweep pickup selector, Sweepable cut/boost (flexible enough to be an on board wah padel if you can get a 3rd hand!) Tone control with link led (goes red for Bass, progressivly Yellow for mid, Green fro Treble) Plus a boost switch for a subtle boost before a solo Anyone is welcome to come and try the bass (I'm in South Lincolnshire) Because of the superficial marks I'm willing to sell it for [s]£500[/s] £450 or Trade for a similar Price Bass (Preferable a 5 String Fretted...but let me know what you have) Any questions, or for more pic's let me know. 15. I also have a warwick with the push/pull pot and I'm pretty sure the battery still drains when passive but plugged in. I currently do most of my playing at church so play for maybe 30min over a 2 hour period (not good for the battery, if done most weeks). So I got a planet waves Circuit breaker cable. Just make sure the circuit breaker switch is at the amp end not the guitar other wise you'll still get a click when unplugging. I've had mine for years now and its a great quality cable. (and cheaper than a pedal)

 17. Ok, so I have a LMII, I love it and would never dream of changing it....until along came the LM tube. OK so the obvious difference is the pre-tube (which I keep being told is not really audibly different from the SS pre). This is fine, I actually love the solid state sound of my LMII but since I use cello and Bass in the same gig through the same amp it would be really useful to have all extra front end control - i.e. separate volume for each input, phantom power (my in-line power for cello pickup is annoying and battery reliant), plus the ever needed mute switch. So my question is whether there is any really difference in sound between the LMII and the LM tube in all SS mode? I know I could go and try them but I'm in the middle of nowhere....any advice....cheers!
 18.
Can anyone help with this? I want to work from the very bottom up so I can get some musical qualifications, and better my theory etc.
Hi, I'm in Bourne (less than 10 miles up the A15). I've just started to doing SOME teaching (don't have loads of spare time with kids and family and stuff) but might be able to help...I've done Grade 8 Bass on Rockschool exam board (passed with Distinction) I also have a strong music and theory background with Grade 8 Cello and Grade 5 Theory. What exactly is it that you are looking to do. Just to do the Bass exams? Or something else more specific? Is there something you particularly want to learn Pure Theory/Music score reading/tab reading/scales etc. Let me know and I might be able to help (although I'm not promising since as I said I don't have loads of spare time due to family stuff) Sim
 19. My First bass was an SR200 (loved it...Absolute great first bass....highly recommended) however my second bass was a Yammy RBX (775 so more similar to the RBX374 but with a couple of nicer finishes) I loved this Bass too!! Great basses but personally I think I would edge towards the Ibanez...I feel you'll get a bit more bass for your buck. Cort....only played a couple...not very impressed...deffinitly stick with one of the bigger commercial names for a beginner bass. But as the others say...get out there...see them in the flesh...get a friend to play them infront of you if you dont feel comfortable so that you can hear any tonal differences. I don't think you'll be disappointed with either the Ibanez of the Yamaha
 20. PM'd with complimentary Wednesday Bump
 21.
The second track really stood out. I thought you were running a silent stage until I noticed your yellow Markbass - were most musicians DI'd straight into the desk with in-ears foldback?
It was a semi silent stage, All musicians and non-choir singers had in ears...unfortunately the in ears we use have never given me enough low end to to tune a fretless B string, so my cab is only loud enough for a bit of personal low end monitoring. The Electric guitarist (next to me) also has his tube amp miced ( although most of his crunch comes from a Line 6 Pro floor pedal thing - so the amp isn't that loud) Also you'll notice that the on stage choir have wedges around them since we don't have enough in ears for an entire choir. The wedges at the front of the stage of for people talking only ...they are off while the music is playing. But apart from the electric guitar (and of course sax/violin) everything that could be DI'd was DI'd...I was using the built in LMII DI. If your interested in that sort of stuff then you may be interested to know that we use a click track for all tracks (although only the drummer and anyone playing an intro without drums) have the click in the mix. It took a while to get used to but hopefully now it doesn't sound clinical at all and I don't think anyone notices, it really helps to keep tight on such a big stage (remembering that on an average Sunday we don't have two huge camera rigs flying over our heads and taking up a quarter of the stage)
 22.
That is so not my bag (the whole God thing, you know ) but, fantastic tone on the second track, and how did you get away with being that prominent in the mix mate, theres a choir, you and a drummer nice one!
Thanks...Well I left my LMII completely flat...(+ about 10% on the VPF)...my Warwick tone was flat too with a bit more emphasis on the bridge pickup. So it's thanks to good equipment and the BBC crew, who were great...they put so much effort into what was just a 1 hour show (at not prime time) so really it was them that did all the work
