I listen to Jaco all the time but I don't sound like him.... Bass is finished , have a butchers....need some feedback...[topic="28297"]Q-Tuner Jazz[/topic]
Looks really nice .. I like the gloss, plate, finish and details. the Q-tuner looks great. What does it sound like? Oh I like your rotary drier too Not keen on those locking jacks though ... They tend to pull right out if you stand on the cable and if you tuck your cable through your strap in the trad way to avoid standing on it you have no need for a locking jack .. Send it over and I'll test it properly
The more the merrier! Just supposition, but if they'd reviewed a limited number of cabs it'd have made the shoot-out a bit worthless so 'maybe' they dragged a couple of cabs in off the street! Sits back and waits to be informed of the 'real reason'
Well yeah, but a BagEnd? In the review they even say they are not available in the UK ...
Most music mags just review what they get sent - hence what people regarded as an unnatural fondness for reviewing Warwick stuff. SHX may not have had a cab available or maybe they were not asked.
Yeah I appreciate that, and the probable relationship between reviews and advertising .... Sean doesn't actually hold much stock but I am sure he could have got a cab from Jorg if he'd been asked .. I still don't get why they reviewed a BagEnd though ..

No bass to play? I bet that's hell .. there... poolside ... in Key Bl33din' West .. Thanks for sharing Oh well .. From Things to do in Key West When you miss your bass Dive! dive! dive!!! Oh and Vist the Hog's Breath http://www.hogsbreath.com/entertainment/ " After dinner, we headed to the Hog's Breath Saloon, a Key West institution. At the Hog's Breath, we listened to a band called The Massacoustics, who were, in a word, terrifically, fabulously awesome. Seriously. The band was only two young guys: a lead singer on guitar, and a guy who drummed with his right hand while playing the bass guitar with his left hand! I'd never seen anything like it. I was especially impressed when he whipped out the maracas and played all three instruments at once. The crowd was going bonkers: we were all dancing. After the Massacoustics finished their set, we headed back to Sloppy Joe's and danced to an 70's cover band for a while. " I like that - the answer to bolshi drummers
Interesting review that - left me wondering whether BGM needs a technical editor... Alex
Hummmmmm you are not alone .. Also what were they doing reviewing a Bag End ("not available in the UK") and not doing a Schroeder - available in the UK via SHX, and popular on BC ... or Markbass - available on every high street???
£269 for an "American Standard" Fender 5 string? http://www.reverb-store.co.uk/product-detail.asp?prod=1394 Surely I'm missing something here. Is this made in Mexico to American standards?
ha ha Been on the phone all day to a guy there to try to make them sell me one at this price, sadly failed once the young pup looked up the buy-in price of the new stock and put two and two togther ... It was so close though ... it's gone from the site now of course ... -
Thanks Old git I'm not sure why I picked the name Lonestar when I joined Basschat ages ago when it was called something else. I have a Lonestar St**tocaster?? I'm beginning to think it's a bit sad really. I might have to change it to something sensible like my real name: Mike. You already have beaten me to the most appropriate name I could use!
Ha ha feel free to have old-git .. we can confuse them all

Hang on ... a bass related post? Who are you and what have you done with Teri???? Nice one Teri, thanks! Clearangel looks like a shopping channel rather than a dealer .. http://www.clearangel.net/Home.aspx EG their Zoom B2.1u page points to 10 possible suppliers of the product, not listed in price order doh! so the cheaper one ("sound control" 0)) is at the bottom.. Still it's a start.. -
Still happy with the Ibanez IDGB5.. Fab value for money, (£70!) fab handles ..... and very fab wheels!!
Oh well, I stand corrected I'd always thought it was JG... Pino's name doesn't appear on the album credits y'see. Anyway, it does sound remarkably like JG's impeccable fretless work, even if it really isn't.
Hang on, you have the album? Hummmmmmmmmmm
Can't recommend this highly enough. Helped me no end when I was starting out getting gigs - in fact there is a quote from me on the web site as one of the satisfied punters.
Yeah me too "Best I’ve read on the subject” – Simon C. Cardiff (www.jellied-reels.co.uk) He's a smart marketeer - but I got an inbound link from it ..
