1. What does it matter. It's all outta whack anyway.
2.
.... and one on the bellend.....
Uhhhh he said bellend. Heh heh heh heh heh bellend heh heh heh heh. Yeah. I got wood.
3. ... and I bet "that someone else" found it in his uncles attic. He's at it man. Look at his other listings, All he sells is busted sh*t. Besides, someone that didn't know about them wouldn't have mentioned EB, you read the name off the face of the headstock don't you (I saw an OLP advertised as a CLP guitar not long ago - now that person really didn't know what they had). Think about it like this, if all it needed was a new knob then why doesn't he do it himself and sell it on for much more? It might be a good find for about 80-100 quid but he's not being up front about it and he's chucked you a standard "fob off" answer so unless you are good at fixing up guitars then avoid him and it.
4. Strictly speaking it is EB (or licenced by) but it is sus to advertise solely it as such. I agree it might get pulled - he's treading a fine line by not mentioning those 3 wee letters O, L & P anywhere in his description.
5.
Whatever we do the total will be wrong. When this thread first started I had 16 basses, I now have 27 including the Stagg EUB, but I can't be bothered to check through 20 pages of poststo see if I posted an update to my original figure. Best really if we start again...
... yet they still keep coming. Must be a pack mentality thing.
6. I can't remember how many I put down the first time round and I've bought, sold and built since then. We really should have a new thread for this to mean anything.
7.
How Punk am I?
That grip you've got going there is pretty punk.
8. A newly signed up BCer (like yesterday) based in Latvia contacted me last night enquiring about the GT6B I have for sale on here. In theory I have no major objection with shipping it to him, or anywhere else in the EU. He is aware of the extra costs involved (still looking at actual prices), obviously I'll receive payment before shipping and I'll make sure there is adequate insurance. I see many examples of people who won't ship abroad. What are the pitfalls? What are your experiences? Rich.
9.
That's a pretty boggin' looking sunburst job - what's with the yellow straight to black on the lower horn? It looks like two different basses.
That's coz often they didn't bother wasting paint on a section that would get covered by the pg. besides....
10. The close up pics are great but another one that shows the bass in it's entirety might help sell it for you. I know I'm curious to see it.
11.
.... It's just finished with a little Danish oil... ...Plus it smells really nice!
Mmmmmm Dayyy-nishhh!
12. Ah, cheers man. I like "air"..... I find it almost impossible to live with out it.
13.
You're right. Meaty = overwound... less 'air', more mids, hotter Light = normally wound.... a bit more 'air', normal mids, normal output. Just like Leo's.
Cheers WOT. I was away to double post this question in the afore mentioned thread but you got in in the nick of time..... Now if I only knew what "air" was.
14. I've just heard back from Andy - he's making up a set of custom Jazz 5 string pups for me and wants to know if I'd prefer light tone or meaty? I'm hoping light tone means a traditional sound. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
15. Good call. It's a nice project for someone with time on their hands but the re-orientation of the neck plate and where the G ends up at the bottom of the neck, I wouldn't be surprised if it's gone a bit banana while its been in it's puddle.
16.
KSD body anyone?
Actually I would.
17. Cheers guys. I just read the original post again. A quick update for the 4 string is that it now has been graced with Lindy Fralin pups instead of the EMG Vs. It is still my main bass and has the most bitchingest sound ever! I think I should have another look at the wiring I did when putting the LFs in, as one of the batteries only last about a month at a time.
18.
I reckon you should go with a clear guard! need to show that maple off! I was personally gonna get some MM humbuckers in there, i reckon they'd work well with the Schack preamp. For the love of god dont make it headless, i'd have to buy it back if you did Cheers for the update!
Yup I think clear makes more sense but I'll try the bit of black I have for just now. Good call, I've always fancied a MM bridge + Jazz neck set up... maybe one day. :brow: I might just put a new set of Barts back in (it's pretty hard finding 5 string pups in this size) but I've had a word with Wizard to see what they can do. I came very close to trading it a few weeks ago but couldn't part with it when it came down to the crunch. I think this bass will be with me for some time yet.... so you're safe.
