  1. My first serious amp was the 100w version of this. As you say, heavy beastie, I would dread having to move one of these now. That said, fine, fine bits of kit - would be brilliant for somebody after that distinctive vintage rock tone. GLWTS
  2. I think you forgot your brain and experience...I have neither of these.
  3. What can be done with a gig bag with a broken zip??

I have a nice case in otherwise good condition with a zip that doesn't work - reluctant to throw it away if it can be rescued or repaired.

    Anybody??

Sometimes alterations shops can repair or replace these types of zips...worth a try?

Saved with a pair of pliers....

  4. I used to own the redburst one that many on this site have owned. Really nice bass with lots of potential - I didn't like the neck profile so sold it to a friend who took it to Scotland where he sold it locally. Could be anywhere now. I really don't understand why they don't hold their value either...
  5. Scary monsters - David Jones
  6. Pinball Wizard - Elton John
  7. Talk Talk - Talk Talk
  8. Roller way the stones - Mott the Hoople.
  9. I was going to bid but didn't want to show my hand. Somebody got a bargain.
  10. Sold for £85....
  11. I think that if this was in the UK this would have sold already. Blame B***it.
  12. A thing of beauty. Hope you don't regret selling.
  13. I haven't played a "real " Lakland but I find that the Skyline models punch well above their price point. I also have a Squier Dimension (active single H), the Fender version comes with HH too. Not fancied in the USA which means that there are bargains to be had. Try one before excluding them from your list. I wouldn't exclude Yamahas either.
  14. High in Iron though...
  15. It's a bit of an urban myth - you may be able to resurrect them for a few hours playing time but they are essentially dead. More aggro than it's worth - buy a decent set of strings which last.

  17. EB Zippo lighter - seen these sell for close to £150 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256050895869?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11051.m43.l1123&mkcid=26&ch=osgood&euid=0fb69369ca9a4029b452a0d22f1403be&bu=43851974399&osub=-1~1&crd=20230421070305&segname=11051
  18. Tantric Obstacles - Ozric Tentacles
  19. Personally I would smooth off the lacquer with varying grades of sandpaper but NOT replace the logo.
  20. I'd choose the Lakland personally. If I were to go for one of the others it would be a Ray without a scratchplate.
  21. All the other Spitfire basses I've seen were JJ configurations - I suppose as a custom bass you can order whatever pickups you want. GLWTS
  22. Two tribes - FGTH
  23. Part of the union - Strawbs
  24. I can see why you'd want it back....lush!! Good luck
