My first serious amp was the 100w version of this. As you say, heavy beastie, I would dread having to move one of these now.
That said, fine, fine bits of kit - would be brilliant for somebody after that distinctive vintage rock tone.

I used to own the redburst one that many on this site have owned. Really nice bass with lots of potential - I didn't like the neck profile so sold it to a friend who took it to Scotland where he sold it locally. Could be anywhere now.
I really don't understand why they don't hold their value either...
I haven't played a "real " Lakland but I find that the Skyline models punch well above their price point.
I also have a Squier Dimension (active single H), the Fender version comes with HH too. Not fancied in the USA which means that there are bargains to be had.
Try one before excluding them from your list.
I wouldn't exclude Yamahas either.
It's a bit of an urban myth - you may be able to resurrect them for a few hours playing time but they are essentially dead.
More aggro than it's worth - buy a decent set of strings which last.
