1. They both came with the sleeves & rack kit , & I could easily knock something up , I just thought it might be a good idea for Ashdown maybe ? with a great big logo .
2. I have two Ashdown ABM digital heads , both are rack mounted , I like the look of the wood case they come in a lot better . It's a nice strong wooden case with a really nice leather handle on the side ..So Ashdown chaps why don't you make a clip- on final covered wood front & back for these ?
3.
I've got 2 supercompacts and they're great - one is easily enough for all gigs. For some gigs I've actually taken both in for aesthetics but only plugged the top one in. Works a treat.
Mine arrived today When you use just the one do you have it raised or on the floor ? & How many gigs did hey take to break in properly ? cheers .
4. I'm looking frwd to see how my new super compact compares to my super 12T , I'm hoping I'll be able to do most pub gigs with my Ashdown ABM1000 & compact . I am just for the the experience going to use my ABM1000 & 12T & DI into my ABM400 powering the super compact .
5. These a great cabs I should be getting my new Super Compact in a couple of days , I'm going to do a blindfold test with several friends to see if they can hear a difference ? GLWTS.
6.
He wasn't being a git, in fact he was doing what more guitarists ought to and paying attention to something other than himself. Sounds like you've got a good 'un!
I was just joshing .. I was just saying that it's nice to play with guys that actually listen to each other & can make comment without taking offence ...I still said He was a git though
7. So what's the best one ?
8. At a band rehearsal last night , our keen eared guitarist pointed out that on a couple of covers I was playing a few wrong notes on a couple of intros , & they were tunes I've played in loads of bands & no one else ever said anything , they harmonized , but I can't believe I I've just been playing them parrot fashion & no one has noticed , Firstly my Guitarist is a git for noticing but correct after checking . Has anyone else done this ?
9. I'm a Safe & vault engineer by trade I specialize in picking locks & designing them . Over the past few weeks 25 Ford vans have had the contents stolen just in my area .All of these Vans had the Ford Tibbe type lock used mainly between 1994 -2012 models . In my opinion it is someone that has bought a tool sold on Ebay & has been practicing . I can pick these locks in 5 seconds(not all). I would strongly advise to upgrade your locks to anything that is CEN grade6 or Sold Secure , If you fit dead locks make sure the cylinders are anti snap/drilll/bump.Personally I wouldn't go for slam locks because it's to easy to lock your keys in the van . Another tool used is a blocker this blocks the signal from your remote when locking the door , Always check the doors after locking or use the actual key to lock the van.
10. I had those they are good , But I went on to Barefaced maybe check them out .
11. If you enjoy it do it ,if not just have a break but don't sell your gear .I'm the worst bass player I know , Do I care ? No . dabble with different styles not just what is popular .Try getting a band together ,But make sure all the people are on the same page ,Don't just choose them because they are good at what they do , Getting someone in a band that you don't get on with will put you off quicker than anything . Get a small PA if you want to form a band , I found it made it so much easier .
12. Jet Black Stranglers drummer uses a tiny floor tom .
13. I had a one of Mark Kings 400 plus & IMHO I didn't like it at all ,I was very surprised at the RRP , I certainly wouldn't have paid for it . but that is just my opinion .
14. After seeing them live in the early days I had my suspicions if that was Him playing on the first album or the edge perhaps ?
15. Ashdown might even have a ex Foo fighters one going for a good price .
16. Did any of the set ups obviously move more air than the others ?
17. I saw this had been sold , So I ordered a new one , I may get a second once I've tried it, or a midget , but it probably won't arrive for another 2 or 3 weeks yet .
18. I've been lucky enough to spend a bit of time with Tony Levin , he showed me various ways to play Sledge hammer & explaining it was all about the groove .
19. Thanks for your replies , They are doing 4 songs at the auditions , we will be rehearsing 2-3 times a week , no key changes & willing to be flexible in the set , We would be happy to start gigging with cheat sheets if that helps . I just don't want to ask someone to do something that is unrealistic .
20. When my new Super Compact arrives I'm going to hook up my super 12T with my ABM1000 Di out to my ABM400 powering my Super compact , just to see what it's capable of doing
21. What do you think a realistic amount of time is for them to work out a set of 30 songs Cure /Killers/ Talking Heads / type stuff . we are auditioning about ten people & it's a question I'm going to ask .
22. when I moved back down from London , I broke some steps taking my Ampeg 8x10 down into a cellar bar
23.
That's a proper job! A bit pricey for this miser, though.
I've got one , I think it was a lot cheaper on Ebay , Minimum height is too high for the 12T cab
24.
I think the issue is being over-complicated somewhat. There is nothing at all wrong with the OP's cab - I used a Super 12 for three months or so and was very impressed - the issue is about the OP being able to properly hear it onstage when standing right next to it. Which means either raising it or tilting it.
correct
25.
That is exactly the right size for my Schroeder 1212L, to the cm..! May have to check that out, thanks. Do you think it will support 18kg at the 45cm setting, though..?
it seems well made , I'll try it in a couple of days , I'm going to try it at 26cm with my super12T & 45cm with my super compact when it comes . plus I'm gong to get a nice comfy chair & have a nice cup of tea after every 5 songs .
